Sins of the Unholy

Chapter 7: Soul Society

Saki and Tsuki watched as those bound for the Soul Society began to mount up on horses. Rangiku and Ichigo sit getting comfortable for the hard ride to come. Coming down the walkway, Juno holds on to Toshiro's arm, both dressed in Soul Society garb. Ichigo notices that around Juno's neck is an intricate choker in black and deep blue like the Zanpaktou that rests on her hip.

Coming to stand before their own horses, Toshiro pulls away before turning to look at Saki and Tsuki.

"You have the charge. We will send for you both if anything changes." His voice is strong as he watches Saki bow forward deeply and Tsuki simply nods. Juno turns to both of them and gives them a deep bow.

Toshiro mounts his horse quickly before turning his horse away to lead the way out. Juno walks over to a smaller gray colored horse. She pats at his neck gently before pulling herself up into the saddle.

"I'll be honest, flash stepping will be nice to use again." Comments Ichigo as he and the others begin to follow the Captain.

Juno paces the outside of the Captains meeting. She rests her hand upon the hilt of Kiseichu as she goes from one side to the other.

"Ryuzaki please stop, you're making us all dizzy." Speaks up, Lieutenant Hinamori chuckles as Juno seems to ignore the comment and continue on. Rangiku lay's an arm over the smaller Lieutenant.

"Leave her be, it's been hectic for days. Plus we made that run in a day." Comments Rangiku as she looks over the other Lieutenants present. Most know of Juno's unique abilities from the old regime but others look on in worry.

"I don't understand why we can't all be there. If the Hell butterfly was right, shouldn't we all be on alert?" Asks Yuyu Yayahara, Squad 8's lieutenant, picks at her long nails as she looks at Juno.

"Rangiku, I'm...going..." Juno pauses mid stride before turning completely to head outside. Quickly busting through the doors Juno looks left and right before continuing out along the hall. Rangiku looks to watch as her 3rd seat leaves and makes no move to catch her.

"Hope everyone's ready for the shit storm this is all going to cause." Speaks up Shuhei as he and the other lieutenants step closer to one another and begin the gossip for the day.

Stepping on to the Squad 10 training grounds, Juno takes a deep breath and simply drinks in the smell of grass and concrete. Before marrying Toshiro, Juno knew these barracks like the back of her hand. Every person, every nook and cranny. Moving to stand in the middle of the training grounds she simply sat. Closing her eyes she basked in the sunlight and chatter from outside the walls.

"You do know, they did want to talk to you about your dreams." Comes Toshiro's voice as she feels his spiritual pressure flit across her skin. The icy breeze he brings pulls a smile to her lips before she looks to not only her Captain but the Head Captain, Captain Isane and Captain Kuchiki of Squad 5. Quickly jumping to her feet she bows deeply to each captain feeling sheepish in their presence.

"I'm so sorry, Captains." She keeps the bow low before Captain Kyoraku chuckles and tips his straw hat back. Flash stepping into the clearing, all the lieutenants of the present captains arrive.

"We understand the pomp and circumstance is never easy to wait out. With what Captain Hitsugaya has informed us of, we understand your unease Ryuzaki." Captain Isane steps closer to place a hand upon the woman's head. Juno straightens up as her eyes shine with tears.

"Kiseichu speaks of War and the destruction of worlds. We've just recovered from the last and yet..." Her words cut off as she moved closer to Isane.

"War will always plague us. It is why the Soul Society exists to fight those wars." Comments Captain Kuchiki looking over Juno and her Zanpaktou. Juno frowns a bit before pulling away from Isane.

"The Soul Society opened up like a blossoming flower, the grounds devouring all that walked the lines of the compounds. Each squad will lose many, Kiseichu will see this and join. The control over my Zanpaktou is slipping. He's trying to kill me for release!" Juno's shout stuns the Captains as she moves back to pacing.

"If Zanpaktou's are reflections of ourselves, our other half. What does that say about me!? I do not want my home destroyed, my friends and family murdered by him. What needs to happen so that this war doesn't destroy all of us!?" Her questions sound frantic as she finally lets the tears begin to fall. The weight of her words distress the Captains but none move.

Toshiro watches as his squad member suffers. He watches as his wife bears more than she'd been telling him. Letting protocols fall, Toshiro finally moves to Juno's side and pulls her close. Turning them away from the captains he tries to comfort his wife as best he can. The chatter from the other captains gets tuned out as he brings her chin up to wipe away at the tears that have gathered.

"You're keeping secrets, wife." His words are sweet but his eyes hold a hard edge to them. She hiccups in his arms trying to pull herself together.

"I'm scared Toshiro, things are getting jumbled and his growls are much more present. It's like watching a wild animal prowl along my inner world." He lets out a pained hiss as he pulls her back to his chest. Hugging her close he lets her cry it out.

"Captain Hitsugaya, 3rd Seat Ryuzaki, I've come to my decision." Captain Kyoraku's voice is gentle as Toshiro turns slightly to face the others.

"As of this moment, Yume no Kiseichu will be placed within a limiter lock. You already wear your choker, so that will help to balance you out a bit. We will take what we know and upgrade our security as well as within Karakura." Toshiro feels Juno stiffen in his arms and he turns to look at her. Wide eyed and red cheeked, his wife's fear ripples off her.

"We can keep it in the Squad, he won't be far away." He whispers to her before rubbing at her back. Captain Kyoraku comes to look down at her.

"Captain Hitsugaya, take her to rest for the day. Not much can be done now. Ichigo has gone home to relay the findings and decision. He'll be back in a few days, we all need time to prepare and get ready."

All those on the training ground clear out till it's just Matsumoto, Toshiro and Juno. Matsumoto steps closer to the two and lays a hand along Juno's head.

"Juno, I'm going to take Kiseichu, I'll bring it to your home later Captain."

Hope you all are enjoying Sins of the Unholy. If you have noticed the cover has changed. Yes, pt 1...pt. 2 is in the works. This first part is almost finished, little things are being updated as I create pt. 2. I hope your all ready for the monster this turned into.
