Kianna’s POV

Papasok na sana ako sa kotse ko nang mapansin kong palabas rin ng pinto si Vanessa. “Yanna, wait,” sabi niya nang binuksan ko na ang kotse. Tinaasan ko lang siya ng kilay. This is the first time in what seems like days that she talked to me. Di kasi kami nag-uusap. She used to try to reach out to me but I never held out my hand. I guess it has been two years since she stopped trying. “Pwede ba akong sumabay? Ginamit kasi ni Dad ang driver and you know I don’t drive.”

I rolled my eyes and looked at her. “Get in,” I said without sparing another glance after saying those two words. I noticed her smiling as if she was so happy I let her ride in my car. As if naman may magagawa ako. “And don’t call me Yanna again. No one ever does.”

It’s a thirty minute drive to the school considering city traffic. Makes me think it was a better idea to use her car and let a driver drive. “Diba Yanna naman tawag sayo ni Drew?” bigla niyang tanong during the red light.

“He just does it to annoy me. And don’t think we’re close just because I let you go to school with me. Narinig ko from Drew anong nangyari the last time you tried to get a taxi. This is practical and safer,” I said as I made a right turn when the light turned green. Namula naman siya sa sinabi ko. Halatang totoo talaga ang nangyari sa kanya na sinabi ni Drew.

“Close pala kayo ni Drew no?” tanong na naman niya. Kakasabi ko lang na di kami close. Ano bang mahirap intindihin dun? She should’ve taken the hint that I don’t want to talk to her.

I just decided to humor her. It’s just one drive anyway. About another twenty minutes worth of suffering her company. “I guess you could say we’re close. We’ve been friends for, I think since pre-school.” I remember what Drei said about her liking Drew. Kung makapal mukha niya, paniguradong magpapatulong na to siya mapalapit kay Drew any minute now.

“Uhmmm… I know this is sudden at alam kong di tayo close, pero, pwede mo ba akong tulungan makaclose si Drew?” nahihiya niyang tanong. Kung hiya pa ba ang tawag diyan. Anong tingin niya sa akin? Do I seem like I don’t have anything better to do than be a bridge to them?

“Look, I know everyone thinks that I’m close to Drew. But the truth is, you’re better off asking for help from his twin. No one knows those two like they know each other.” I said, trying damn hard not to roll my eyes. Honestly, di ko makita kung anong nagustuhan niya at ng ibang babae sa school. Oo na’t gwapo siya, matalino at mayaman. But those type of guys are common these days. “And I’m going to be honest with you. May narinig akong may babae ng gusto si Drew. Ipagdasal mo na lang na ikaw yun. At kung sakali mang hindi, maraming iba diyan. Di ka pa ba lalabas?” tanong ko.
