The Hat called out "Gryffleclyn!"

The Great was silent for a second before students turned to one another, whispering amongst themselves, and the professors stood, trying to calm everyone down.

Ember turned, letting McGonagall take the Hat and pass her over to the Headmaster, who led her into the hallway.

"On the seventh floor, there is a statue of a gargoyle. Tell it, 'Fizzing Whizzbees', and it will move, and the stairs behind it will lead to my office. I would like you to wait there."

"Am I in trouble?" she mumbled.

Dumbledore shook his head, "You're alright."

She turned, walking off and Dumbledore returned to the Great Hall. By then McGonagall had reached the L's and the Hat had just sorted 'Love, Gwendolyn' into Hufflepuff.

McGonagall called 'Lupin, Remus' and a small boy walked up to the stool. The Hat only took seconds to call out "Gryffindor!" and the boy slowly walked towards the table, sitting next to Alice and slightly across from Sirius.

Mary and Marlene were sorted into Gryffindor but Isabelle Moore became a Hufflepuff.

When McGonagall reached the P's, the Hat took a minute to sort Peter Pettigrew but had wasted no time yelling "Gryffindor!" when James put it on.

Jax Rogers was sorted into Ravenclaw and Mulciber into Slytherin.

The Sharpe twins were split up, Emma in Ravenclaw, and Oliver in Hufflepuff.

Severus Snape joined the Slytherins, Lily frowning slightly that they weren't in the same house, and Lauren Sopp was deemed a Hufflepuff.

The Hat called out 'Ravenclaw' for Ivy West and the Sorting ended with Carson Young (Hufflepuff).

In the end, the Gryffindors and Slytherins had 9 new students, Hufflepuff had 8, and Ravenclaw had 7.

Once the feast had ended, one of the prefects from each house took their new members to their dorms.

Dumbledore stood and walked out of the Great Hall.

He opened the door to his office to find Ember with a slice of cake.

"I figured I'd miss the speech," she explained, "So I called a House Elf."

Dumbledore merely chuckled, "Smart, but did you actually eat or did you just get cake?"

"I had a real dinner, this is just dessert."

"Why are you on the floor?"

"Well, if I spilled, I wouldn't have wanted to ruin your chair."

"I wouldn't have minded, I do have magic." He sat down in his chair, motioning for her to sit. "So, Miss Ember Frost," he paused, "The Gryffleclyn."

"I know you said I wasn't in trouble but I'm sitting in your office and I had to miss the feast so what I'm getting from you right now is that I did something wrong."

"If I had let you stay in the Great Hall, what would you have sat at?" He started, "Which prefect would you have followed once the feast was over and students had to go to their dorms?" He was quiet, leaning back in his chair as Ember furrowed her brow, thinking.

"Good point. But I still have to sleep somewhere."

Dumbledore sat up, caught off guard. "The hospital wing has beds?" He supposed. "If needed, we could get you a dorm in every common room, you'd be the only one there though."

"So I'd have 4 dorms and the hospital wing?"

"Well, you'd have to stay in the hospital wing until we had the dorms ready and your trunk might move around a lot, things could get lost," he paused, thinking.

"So I'll sleep in the hospital wing for now."

"Yes, you do know where that is, right?" Ember nodded and Dumbledore continued. "Come see me again tomorrow and we'll work on your schedule."
