Prologue

My name is Kamado Y/n. And I am currently 10 years old! Today is the day I turn 11 years old. I live pretty normal life except-...

"Y/n! You fell again! I told you not to overwork yourself!"

My mother------Kamado Kie. Lifted me up in her arms and frantically scanned my body for possible injuries.

You know what's funny? I just walked in the sun for only 15 minutes. And I nearly fainted!

I have this illness that even pharmacists here couldn't figure out what. It was mysterious, my mother and father had taken me to different doctors but to no avail!

But they never gave up...

My illness' symptom consists of me constantly...

Coughing blood from time to time;

Low stamina---even 15 minutes standing alone can make me faint;

Constant headache and dizziness;

Sometimes sudden fever;

Also prone in getting sick;

Sometimes my chest throbs;

And when blood comes down my nose... it normally is a sign that I'm gonna faint.

My symptoms started when I was only 3 years old when I suddenly fainted while walking with mother up the mountains making the whole family panic when she went home with me in her arms, unconscious.

My older twin sister Nezuko would always be by my side taking care of me along with my other siblings.

I envy them playing under the sun all day like they have all the time in the world. Also... my parents noticed something different from me.

For a child my age, I kind of have an adult for a mind. I frequently speak maturely, and suddenly becomes childish as if nothing happened.

Since I can't even help my family in work. I help mother in counting money and calculating our funds.

"Y/n!"

My room's sliding door burst open and in came all my siblings Shigeru; Hanako; Takeo; Nezuko and Tanjiro. Rokuta is with my mother at the moment.

"Happy 11th Birthday Y/n!", Hanako hugged me softly as I am fragile. Then they surrounded me hugging me as I gasp for air.

"Now now kids, Y/n needs air", Kaa-san said as she pats me in the head and greeted me a Happy birthday.

"Arigatou, Kaa-san!", I smiled brightly. "Happy Birthday to us Y/n!!", I grinned and hugged my sister Nezuko. "Happy Birthday to you too, sissy!!"

Tanjiro-nii then helped me get up from bed and led me to the dinner table. I gasp in excitement as I see the dishes set in the table.

"Waaa!! My favorite mochi!", I said almost stumbling down as I ran to the table.

"Be careful Y/n! Your body can't handle sudden things remember?", I only gave my mother a goofy smile.

"Wow! Look at all this food Kaa-san!", Takeo screamed in excitement as mother scolded him for not washing his hands before eating.

Then my father------Kamado Tanjuro. Came in the room.

"Tou-san!", I screamed in happiness. My father had constantly been getting weak like me. But he looks like... dying.

(I don't know when he died okay? So for the sake of the plot.. please understand)

Father approaches me and pats my and Nezuko's heads as we tilt our heads in affection.

"Happy 11th birthday Y/n, Nezuko..", he smiled weakly. We giggle and prompt the man to sit with us.
