"You're scared, aren't you?" Y/N nudge him but Jisung only looks back at her, his cheeks tinted pink and he chuckles.
"I am but not often..." The girl furrows her brows and steps off the couch to take a seat beside the boy on the floor. He backs away slightly to give her space. However, Y/N grab onto his cheeks with both of her palms.
"Really?" Y/N smiled as she waits for him to continue. Jisung only looks back at her with wide eyes, the tips of his ears burn a deep red. She chuckles again.
"I'm teasing," She said, and carefully, let go of him but before Y/N could stand to walk away, Jisung grabs her hands again.
He lightly squeezes them and softly he said, "Don't tease me if you don't mean it." Jisung's eye stares into hers, almost like he was begging for something from her. Y/N felt her heart squelched.
Before she could even say anything, Jisung has already stood up to go to his room.
That was during the years they were in their middle school, hanging out on a scary movie night at Jisung's parent's place when they were out for an anniversary date. Y/N had come to keep him accompany but somehow that night something strange stirred in the air between them.
If only Y/N really knew why he was in such a bad mood, she wouldn't have taken everything so lightly between them. Middle school years weren't always the best for Jisung when his childhood friend is constantly swarmed with friends leaving him out most of the time.
He finds it hard to approach her especially when boys tend to pick on Jisung's tiny crush on his friend who he knows will not be happy if she knew.
"Y/N and you became friends again?" A familiar freckle young man asks, Jisung only replies with a small shrug. He let his eyes scan the city of people from the inside of the cafe window.
His friends were gathering a small hangout after so long which Jisung couldn't deny because he needed some time to rethink by himself and hopefully his older friends can help.
A man sets down two trays of drinks in front of them he flashes his dimples at them.
"Long time no see, Hannie." Jisung turns his attention to his older friend and smiles.
"Long time no see indeed, Chan. How's life doing?" He asks out of curiosity.
Chan chuckles sheepishly, "I found a girl I like but yeah we're taking baby steps, I guess. What about you? I heard Felix mention somebody, did he not?" His eyes twinkle in curiosity and Jisung looks away again. Minho scoffs.
"You're still friends with Y/N?" Changbin nudge Minho who quickly added, "I thought she dumped you?"
Jisung shakes his head, "We were never a thing, Minho. I've told you many times already. She's my friend."
"Ex-friend. Now is she really trying to ask for you back?" asks Minho. Jisung sighs.
"We're only friends and I don't know. It's complicated. She's very ticked off because I guess her parents blew her off about her relationship with me so I'm assuming she's trying to mend back the relationship for her parents but I doubt it." His tone saddens each sentence he spoke. His heart slump inside his chest and Jisung leans his head on the palm of his hand as he begins to think again.
Over and over...why does he still do this to himself?
"Y/N is just my friend..." His voice trails off which each man only exchanges a silent look before the older speaks.
"You like her a lot, don't you, Jisung?" Jisung shakes his head. He denies it again.
"I don't like her as much as before but every time I see her I just..." Jisung lied again. He constantly does that each time somebody asks him about his feelings.
