June:

Boom
Bullets rang along the tins towards every direction rapidly.
Jinx's voice screamed in distress as she shot aimlessly at whatever made a single movement.
June wailed as she watched her friend fall to the ground.
Before June knew what to do Ekko grabbed her waist, hauling her over his back holding her tightly as she struggled reaching for the air ship.

June rubbed her eyes furiously with her fingers as she tried to stop her tears.
She looked over as Ekko ripped his mask off slamming it on the ground the other members were silent staring at the ground.

She sighed, maybe if she was quicker, faster, smarter, she could've saved Bree.
"Guys...at least we destroyed some of the shimmer..." whispered Dee.
"Bree's dead!" June snapped glaring at Dee.
Austin looked away, "I know...but"
June stood up, "no but. Yeah the shimmer needs to be destroyed but today was not worth a life...it's almost never worth a life. I rather they got their damn shimmer than loose one of our family!"

Ekko stepped in his hand placing on her shoulder, she knew he was just trying to help her calm down but his action felt demeaning. She didn't want to be babied or treated like her outburst was foolish, she shoved his hand off and turned away from him.
He sighed and looked at everyone else,
"I know today wasn't what we wanted...tonight we will have a burial and honor Bree. let's not blame each other or ourselves for what happened today...Bree would want us to keep fighting like how we always have."

June bit her lip, sometimes she hated that Ekko was the leader, not because he was a bad one he was in fact the best leader anyone could have...the best brother she was blessed with, she just hated knowing her outburst compared to Ekko's wise words sounded childish.

She walked away from the gathered people and entered the training room. When she wasn't creating she'd be training.
Her favorite part of the training room was either working on her dagger skills or the punching bag. Ekko was the first person who taught her how to throw a punch. And she really felt like throwing a  really good punch right now.

Flashback

"Ekko can you help me fight?" June asked as Ekko and her laid on the rooftop of a building,
Ekko raised his eyebrow, "I...why?" He stuttered getting nervous that June wanted to become a street fighter.

"Ekko...when you first met me I was getting punched in the gut. I want to learn how to defend myself." June muttered rolling her eyes as if he asked her why the Earth wasn't flat.

He chuckled, "alright."
She got up placing her hands on her hips staring down at him.
"Wait. Right now?"
"I gotta start somewhere" June said all serious.

Ekko looked around and smirked, "just so you know I won't go easy on you...even if you are my sister."
June rolled her eyes, "please like I'd want you to--"
All of a sudden Ekko threw a quick punch jabbing at June's shoulder.
She gasped falling over.
He stood there his knees slightly bent and his arms up ready to defend himself.
"Hey!" She shouted gathering herself up.
She wanted to be annoyed but she couldn't stop grinning, "how did you do that so quickly!?"

Ekko dropped his arms and looked towards the buildings. "There was this girl I knew. She was amazing, she was just a little older than me yet she was so much stronger."
June walked over by him and nodded.
"She could even fight adults three times her size...on her free time id beg her to teach me some moves. I don't know that much but she's the one that taught me how to fight."

June eyes widened, "wow. I want to meet her what's her name?"
Ello frowned, "she's dead. Her name was Vi"

Present:

June cracked her knuckles and started to violently punch the bag. With her last swing
The bag swayed back and forth, she smirked. She knew there was always more to improve but she was proud of how much better she'd gotten.
The door opened, Ekko entered he looked nervous.
"Hey there..."
June looked away and kept lightly punching  at the bag.
Ekko sighed.

"It wasn't your fault."
Silence
"No one's mad at you"
June punched the bag a little harder as he kept talking.
"June can you stop ignoring me I don't get what--"
With another powerful swing the bag almost slammed into Ekko.

Everything shifted
And June was back to what she was doing less than a minute ago and lightly punching the bag.
She glared at Ekko, "hey! We agreed you wouldn't use your stupid timey thing unless it was life or death."
Ekko glared at her throwing his hands in the air, "you almost killed me god June why are you so difficult!"

"Maybe if you stopped sounding like a father or something and treating me like a child. You're only like a year older." June muttered.
Ekko rubbed him temple, "i don't do that."
June raised her eyebrow.
"You're the only family I got...I don't want to loose you. You're also really hard on yourself."
June bit her lip, she felt bad for getting upset, "I know...why do you think jinx did that?"
Ekko pursed his lips, "I honestly don't know...it's like she gets crazier."

It was true. June didn't know jinx or Powder only that the girl was around her age and liked to blow up everything.
June decided to change the subject, "you know you haven't trained with me in awhile...don't want you to start slacking off." She joked.
"Me? Slacking off? Don't humor me" He grinned already in a fighting position.
Just as he was throwing a punch she swiftly moved her leg flipping his whole body in the air grabbing his arms and slammed him against the floor.
"Definitely slacking."
