Part 20 || epilogue

<time skip 8 years>

Hana's POV

Hana: "Why don't you guys go get ice cream?" I offered. We were in the park on a Sunday, just for a relaxing family outing.

Sunghoon: "you want ice cream Ben?" He asked our son who he was carrying in his arms. He couldn't talk yet but he was excited when he heard 'ice cream' so we took that as a yes and laughed.

Years went by and that 'a while' practically meant let's become distant friends. We only ever greeted each other during special occasions or holidays. He got married to Bianca and I got married to Sunghoon. After that incident we never really talked anymore. Yet, I still miss him when I some thing trigger my memory. He was my bestfriend who I spent most of my childhood years with.

Sunghoon: "Hana..." he asked surprised

Hana: "what?"

Sunghoon: "isn't that Heeseung?" I froze and turned my head around. We saw him across the park.

Hana: "that is him" I wanted to approach him. Last time we talked in person was in high school, that day we said we'd keep a distance for 'a while'.

Sunghoon: "you should go say hi, it'd be nice for you guys to catch up" I looked at him confused

Hana: "are you sure?" He kissed my lips

Sunghoon: "he's your best friend, and anyway who's the one you married?" He smirked and I turned his face away from me with my hand and laughed. Sunghoon kept his promise, he never fought with me about Heeseung. He's right, he didn't replace those good memories with Heeseung, even better he added to them just like he promised.

Hana: "fine, wait here for me."

Sunghoon: "go ahead, we'll just buy ice cream" I nodded and started walking towards Heeseung.

A/N's POV

Heeseung was standing by a tree with his arms crossed and he seemed to be waiting. Hana approached him playing out in her head all the possible things that can happen. Well one thing is for sure, surprise will hit both of them.

Hana: "Uhhh Lee Heeseung?" He turned around and when he saw the girl in front of him his eyes widened

Heeseung: "Hana? Oh my gosh, is that really you?" He tilted his head and she laughed. For a small moment he wanted to carry the girl in front of him and tell her how much he's missed her

Hana: "I can't believe it! You look different, you still look handsome as ever" they both chuckled

Heeseung: "back to you, still— perfect"

Heeseung looked behind her and recognized Sunghoon. He saw him carrying a baby and connected all the dots

Heeseung: "is that your son?" Hana turned to look at Sunghoon and smiled

Hana: "yup, Benjamin or Ben for short. Named him after Sunghoon's English name" he nodded obviously not knowing that. "So how have you been?"

Heeseung: "good, good, how about you?"

Hana: "well everything's been—" she paused and looked back at Sunghoon who was holding their sons hands up while he tried to walk and at the same time trying to balance 2 ice cream cones. "—just perfect" he nodded. Hana was about to ask a question when a little girl hugged Heeseung's leg.

When Heeseung sees her he panics. He was about to bend down and tell her to go back to her mom but Hana cut him off

Hana: "your daughter?" She smiled and bent down to the little girls height. She was a bit older than Benjamin.

Little girl: "wow you're so pretty! Dad, do you know her?" Before Heeseung answered Hana laughed

Hana: "I'm your dads old friend is that fine?"

Little girl: "I didn't know dad has a pretty friend like you!" Hana was obviously touched

Hana: "so what's your name?" Heeseung was about to pick her up and stop her but she started talking

Little girl: "My name is Hana! But not the usual spelling. It's spelled H-A-N-A. People always spell it wrong differently"

She laughed and adult Hana looked at Heeseung, her smile disappearing. They made eye contact fully knowing what they were both thinking. Heeseung bent down as Hana stood up straight.

Heeseung: "hey why don't you go back to mom?" She nodded and hugged Heeseung

Little Hana: "bye pretty unnie!" She ran away and Heeseung stood up straight as well. There was a short moment of silence between them

Hana: "does Bianca know?" He looked away and shook his head. More specifically she wondered if Bianca knew the meaning behind her name

Heeseung: "no" Hana nodded.

Heeseung naming her that meant that even though Hana loved someone else, he fell in love too with Bianca but he always had a place for Hana in his heart.

Hana: "I won't ask why Heeseung, but I should go. I wish you the best... love you" she smiled making the boy sad she was leaving. She waved goodbye and ran to Sunghoon and Ben.

Hana finally able to say 'I love you' again meant she successfully moved on. She loved him as her bestfriend. Heeseung smiled knowing that. They both felt relieved.

Sunghoon: "hey how was it?"

Hana: "let's just say, it's all good" Hana kissed Sunghoon on the lips both of them smiling in between. They pulled apart and she carried Ben in her arms and gave him a kiss on his cheek. "I love you both so so much and I couldn't ask for anything more. Everything is just perfect"

Sunghoon smiled and kissed Hana on her forehead. He looked at Heeseung who is now with Bianca and little Hana. Of course Sunghoon doesn't know that her name is Hana. Heeseung made eye contact with Sunghoon and they both gave each other a nod.

Heeseung's POV

Bianca: "hey how about we go on that side? The sunset view looks better there" I nodded. As we walked I couldn't help it but I looked back to see Hana leaving with Sunghoon and Ben happily. Seeing her laugh and smile, makes me happy.

There are things I regret, a lot of things. But of course I love Bianca, don't get me wrong. I really do love her with all my heart and I'd marry her again but— I always seem to wonder, what if Hana never forgot something that day in school? I wouldn't have noticed or seen Bianca and she wouldn't have gotten close to Sunghoon.

What if I really had just listend to my heart and not my eyes back in school. How would things have turned out?
