A/N - I hate having to do this, but since NovelHD has already started to pirate some of my books, here we go. These works are mine. My poor little brain came up with the plots and characters, and I'd really prefer you to not steal them. If you're reading this on a site that is NOT Wattpad then it is most certainly stolen.
Thanks!

Mondays suck. This isn't exactly news to anyone. It's been a known fact since the work week was invented. The ancient Romans and Greeks used to have gods and demigods for just about everything, and I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the god of Mondays was an absolute asshole. It's really the only explanation.
And this Monday was shaping up to be the worst.
To begin with, it was snowing. In Atlanta. This isn't a good thing, as it will pretty much paralyze the city since the residents aren't used to driving in snow. I'm lucky in that I grew up in New England, so I can handle it a little better. Respect the snow, don't be crazy. But then the snow knocked out the power at my apartment complex overnight, so my phone didn't charge, and therefore the alarm didn't go off! Now I'm running late, and I'll be lucky to have a few percent battery from the car charger by the time I make it to the office.
This wasn't shaping up to be a good first day as a full-time employee! I had originally been hired in a temp to perm contract position at Orion Energy Investments with a six-month probationary period. That probationary period had ended on Friday, and my supervisor had told me that I'd done well enough to be brought on as a full-time employ starting today. So of course, I was late on the first day. Perfect way to start your job, Tyler!
Luckily, I'd seen the snow starting the night before, and had laid out clothes appropriately. Thankfully the office dress code was business casual, so I had my nicer jeans and a button-down shirt ready to go with dress socks and shoes. A quick 5-minute shower with teeth brushing in it to speed up the process had me out the door in under 15 minutes. Not too shabby!
If I wasn't so terrified to be late, I'd probably laugh at the situation. Growing up in the northeast, snow was part of every year. When I graduated and got the job offer from Orion, I was thrilled! Not only was it in the field I wanted, but it was down south where I could have mild winters for a chance and enjoy much better weather. So having my first day turn to shit because of weather that I was used to was infuriatingly ironic.
The only good thing was that I was driving my old four-wheel drive jeep, so I was doing fine in the snow. There were surprisingly few cars on the road, so traffic wasn't too bad, even if there were occasionally people sliding through intersections and around curves because they were going too fast for the road conditions. As much as I wanted to race to work, I took my time. I'd rather show up alive and be a little late than get into an accident and not show up at all. The snow was still falling a bit as I drove, so the visibility wasn't great either, but it was still doable.
After a lovely 45-minute drive, I pulled into the employee parking lot 30 minutes late. I immediately noticed that the parking lot was empty and started to panic. Was it really Sunday? Did I somehow miss a day? What the hell was happening? I didn't want to turn around and go home without confirming, and movement near the building caught my eye as another car parked up in the VIP lot. Shit, if a boss was in, I better go too!
