Lily was in the most uncomfortable situation in her life, she felt tears of humiliation prick her eyes as she tried so hard not to cry.

Gasps and whispers echoed in the room as Lily ran as fast as her legs allowed her to her room.

As soon as she arrived there, she quickly shut the door and locked it twice before falling to the ground, burying her face in her knees as she finally let it out and cried.

She couldn't take it anymore, being separated from her family, having to work for her kidnappers, and now getting humiliated in front of a huge crowd of people.

All she ever did was go to her local town's library to end up in her worst nightmare.

Xavier was shocked by what had occurred, it happened way too fast for Xavier to comprehend what was happening and when he did, he was furious.

He quickly dragged Christina by her arm and stormed out of the room.

"Where are you taking me?!" She screeched.

"To apologise!"

"To who? To that maid? Have you lost your mind, Xavier?! I would never!"

"Oh but you're going to now."

"Or else?"

"Or else I promise to humiliate you in the worst way possible and you know that I don't break promises right?"

Christina gulped at his words, she knew that Xavier was not one to break a promise.

"Fine! God, Why the fuck do you even care about her? She's just a maid! And I'm the daughter of the Leader of the Spanish mafia yet here I am, on my way to apologise to a maid!"

"You know that your father won't be too happy after seeing the scene you made out there so suck it up and accept that you made a mistake."

She remained silent until they reached her room.

"Knock!" He ordered.

She decided not to fight anymore and knocked.

They could both hear her cries from outside.

"Who is it?" She asked in a croaky voice.

"It's me, Xavier. Open up." He answered.

She quickly got up and opened the door for her boss.

"S-sir, what are you doing here?" She asked wiping her tears.

"You should be asking her." He said as he pointed at Christina.

"Look, I'm sorry okay? I shouldn't have humiliated you like that. I'm leaving, Xavier!" She quickly said as she stormed off.

Lily was shocked, to say the least, Xavier had made a very respectable woman apologise to her, a maid.

Her brain couldn't comprehend why would he do that but she was thankful anyway.

"Never mind her, she's a spoiled brat. Would you mind if I step in?"

He didn't even know why he asked her that, it just slipped out and it was too late to take it back.

"Uhm, yes of course." Answered Lily unsurely.

He quickly stepped in and closed the door behind him.

"Uhm why did you close it?" Asked Lily worriedly.

"It's just that I don't want anyone seeing me here."

"Oh right, I forgot I'm a worker here."

"No, it's not like that. People are most likely searching for me now and I don't want to face anyone right now."

"Oh."

"So how has it been here so far?"

"Fine, thank you for asking."

"If you want, you can take a day off tomorrow."

"Thank you, sir."

"You're welcome, I'm going to leave, you must be tired. Goodnight, Lily."

Lily's heart couldn't help but swell every time he called her by her name.

"Goodnight, sir."

He left but Lily's smile didn't leave her face as she slid into bed and fell into a deep slumber.

Lily woke up the next day, feeling energised and happy for some odd reason.

He'd given her the day off the night before so she decided to ask for permission to go to the garden.

Gisele had brought her a couple of dresses when she went shopping once so she decided to wear one of them.

It was a beautiful sage green dress and she couldn't help but twirl in front of the mirror in happiness.

She absolutely loved it.

She decided to pair it with a pair of sandals that Gisele also brought her and went to the kitchen to see Gisele.

She entered the kitchen but found no one there except the maid who was mean to her the first day whom she later learned her name was Kate.

"Goodmorning Kate," She said trying to be respectful.

"Where are you going looking like that?" She asked looking her up and down.

"To the gardens, it's my day off, I was about to ask the boss for permission, do you know where he is?"

"He isn't here today."

"Oh."

"So are you still going to the gardens?"

"Not sure, I don't want to get in trouble so I guess I'll stay here."

"You don't necessarily have to get in trouble you know." Said Kate as an idea struck her.

"What?"

"I mean that you can go and I'll inform him."

"But wouldn't he get mad?"

"No, it's fine. I do that all the time and he never told me anything."

"Oh okay thank you so much, I'll never forget this." Thanked Lily's gullible self immediately trusting a woman who had been nothing but mean to her.

"You're welcome." Said Kate smirking evilly.

Lily spent the day in the garden alone since nobody was there unaware of the anger awaiting her back in the estate.
