Choice

You and only You

Nanon and Chimon rushed to the hospital. They quickly ran to the Inquiry section to inquire if Ohm was bought to that hospital.

Nanon: Ohm, Ohm Pawat. Was he bought to this hospital?

The staff checks the hospital log and confirms the patients name.

Staff: Yes. He is here in room number 201. He is undergoing treatment right now.

Nanon and Chimon ran up the stairs to Ohm's room. As they enter the room, they saw a doctor checking his wounds.

As the doctor moved aside they saw Ohm sitting on the bed with a bandage on his head and his right arm in a cast. They could see a few scratches on his legs and arms.

Chimon: Doctor

Doctor turned around to look at the new visitors.

Chimon: Hello Doctor. My name is Chimon and this is Nanon. We are Ohm's friends. How is his condition? Are there any serious injuries.

Doctor: He is okay now. He was unconscious when they brought him in. He also had a head injury. So we did a MRI and CT. There are no internal injuries but we would like to keep him under observation for one night. He also has a small sprain in his right arm.

Chimon: Okay. Thank you so much doctor.

Doctor: You are welcome.

As the doctor passes by Nanon he looks at him carefully.

Doctor: Young man you look really tired. Are you not getting enough sleep?

Nanon: I am okay doctor. Just some personal problems.

Doctor: Take care son. Sleepless nights are not good for health.

Nanon just nods and smiles at the doctor.

As the doctor exits the room, Ohm looks at Nanon with guilt in his eyes as he knew he was the reason for his sleeplessness.

Chimon: AiOhm. How the hell did you get hit by the car?

Ohm: I..I was feeling restless. So I thought of walking some distance before catching a cab. I was trying to cross a junction when a speeding car hit me.

Chimon: Did you see the vehicle model or number.

Ohm: No. Actually it's not their fault. I was trying to cross the road without looking at the signal.  The guy tried to stop his car but it was too late.

Chimon: Ohm

Ohm: I know. I am sorry.

Chimon just sighs and sits on the chair next to the bed. He looks at Ohm and Nanon who were just looking at each other. Ohm's eyes were pleading to Nanon while Nanon gave him a blank look devoid of any emotions.

Chimon: I think I will go home now.  Nanon will stay with you.

Ohm: No. It's okay. You both can go home. There are so many nurses out here. I will call them if I need help.

Chimon: But Ohm..

Ohm: Please Chim. He is already tired. Don't force him to stay with someone he don't want to see.

Chimon looks at Nanon who does not say anything and walks out of the room.

Chimon: If that's what you want.  I will go.

Ohm: Bye. Take care of him for me.

Chimon just nods his head and walks out of the room.

Ohm could no longer hold his tears. He felt lonely without his friends beside him. He turned to his side away from the door and pushed his face into the pillow to muffle his crying sound. Suddenly he felt something warm covering his body. He opened his eyes to see Nanon standing next to his bed and covering him with the sheet.
