Vero and Xon are standing outside of the crater dusting the snow off of themselves while their father gives them a long lecture about responsibility.
Jardin: Not only did you leave your mother alone and disobey me but you nearly got yourselves killed AGAIN!
Xon: Sorry dad
Jardin: Why is it that every time I turn around you two are always doing something stupid and where is your thermal coat
Vero: Oh uh I left it at the plateau
Jardin slaps his hand on his face in frustration
Jardin: HUHH how is it that your little brother was at least responsible enough to keep himself warm
Vero: I... don't know
Jardin: Well since you two want to go on an adventure so much you're going to go to all your friends houses and apologize to their parents and when you're finished you're going to help Dalltyl with whatever he needs.
Vero: But
Jardin: Do I make myself clear?
Vero and Xon: Yes sir
Jardin: Good now go home and get another coat before you start your tasks
The boys take off running towards their home
Jardin: and make sure you check in with your mother
Xon: Yes sir
Xon and Vero rush to the front door of their home nearly falling from running through the snow too fast.
Xon: Well that went better than I thought
Vero: Just stop talking
The boys open the metal sliding door and walk inside wiping their feet off as they walk in
Nara: Boys is that you
Vero: Yeah mom its us
Nara: Ok Ill be right with you
Xon: I think she's in her workshop
Vero walks past his little brother and slaps him in the back of the head
SlAP!
Xon: HEY!
Vero: What?
Xon jumps onto Vero's back and begins giving him a barrage of small little slaps on his head. As they struggle their mother can hear them in the other room
Vero: Get off me runt
Crash!
Xon: Stop calling me that
Nara: Boys what did i tell you about fighting
Nara walks into the hallway and sees the two boys struggling with each other. Xon is still on Veros back slapping him in the head as Vero begins to grab him by his hair.
Nara: HEY!
Both of the boys freeze in place and tare back at their mother in awkward silence
Vero: Sorry mom
Xon: Yeah sorry
Nara: honestly you two are always going at each other for the dumbest reasons
15 Minutes later
Nara is examining the xon for injuries at the kitchen table while vero sits at the end of the table with his arms crossed.
Nara: An ice dragon
Xon: Yeah he was really big too but dad took him out in one shot
Nara: That's very strange they never come out this far how far did you venture out
