Rouge Force Chapter 3: Smile

Apologies for being gone so long I had a lot of stuff to deal with on a personal level, but now Im back and ready to share my story with you guys.

Xon is lying still in his bed fast asleep enjoying what seems to be a pleasant dream. But he is suddenly awakened by a snowball to the face out of nowhere.

SPLOSH!

Xon: What the!

Xon jumps out of bed, runs to the window and sticks his head out to see where it came from. When he looks outside he sees his older brother Vero staring up at him with an aggravated look on his face and his arms folded.

Vero: LETS GO RUNT!

Xon: What do you want and stop calling me runt!

Vero: Jeez! Did you forget already your so damn helpless

Xon: Forget what i didn't forget anything

Vero: The inspectors are coming today to look at the tibanna ya moof-milker dad needs our help all day today

Xon: OOHHH thats today

Vero: YESS

Xon: OK I'll be out in a sec

Vero: UHuh

Xon runs back into his room but turns around and rushes back to the window

Xon: Hey who you callin moof-milker

Vero: LETS GOO!

Xon: Ok...ok...ok

Xon quickly throws on some new clothes and his coat and rushes down stairs towards the front door. As he passes the kitchen he is stopped by his mother.

Nara: AH AH wait a minute little one

Xon: Sorry mom but I really gotta go before dad gets really mad

Nara: You'll be fine this will only take a second

Nara walks over to Xon and hands him a bag filled with dry strips of meat.

Nara: your brother and your father rushed out of here this morning and they forgot to eat breakfast. Go ahead and share this with them so I know you boys have eaten something

Xon: Ok mom

Xon kisses his mother on the cheek and rushes out the front door

Xon: By mom I love you thanks for breakfast

Nara: your welcome sweety love you too

Xon rushes outside and catches up to his brother who has already begun walking towards the landing platform at the other side of the village.

Xon: Here mom says eat some of this

Vero: What is it

Xon: Just eat it

Vero: Dragon sticks

Xon: MMMHM

Vero: Yess

A couple of minutes later Vero and Xon arrive at the landing platform and see their father standing among a small group of villagers. He is impatiently tapping his finger on a small holopad not saying a word to the other villagers who are all having their own conversation.

Vero: Well doesn't look like we missed much

Vero and Xon walk towards their father and stand on either side of him ignoring the other villagers. Xon taps his father to get his attention.
