Our world, known as Earth, has been left in peace for three years. Before that, things we called 'voids' had been cracking through our atmosphere like there was no tomorrow. Countries allied with each other to push the alien realms back out through our atmosphere, by closing them. To do so, they had to ensure that every item or being that came through the void was killed or broken. Within a year, a total of 63 voids had opened globally, and it took a week or so to shut each one. When asked, scientists conducted research. The voids were coming from another universe and another dimension, that had many different planets like our own. This became exciting news worldwide and led to tests. Humans that were of heavy muscle, high brainpower and extreme common sense began to get transported through the voids - in hope of discovering the new worlds and putting an end to the sieges on Earth.

But alas, days after their departures, signs of their deaths fell from the voids. Corpses, half eaten bodies and sometimes even the bones. It was impossible to survive, yet scientists continued on, hoping to find someone able to survive. After another year, the voids suddenly stopped. The lightning-like portals all closed and completely disappeared. It was both a blessing and a disappointment.

Now, three years later, I am a senior in an American private high school. At the end of this year, I will graduate and depart home. Voids have become old, boring news, although I still find them overly interesting. The whole idea that an alien race has been on our planet is enough to make me think.

My name is Fae, a seventeen year old girl who has had way to many experiences with clingy boys and fake friends. Due to these, I no longer sit with friends and ignore every boy possible. And due to those actions, I have come to pick up athletics, studying a heap more and fashion designing.
But on this particular week, my life changed completely.

Why, you may ask?
I guess you will have to find out.
