ZOE

Zoe forced her eyes open,her purple tinted blue eyes stared at the ceiling she slept under. She Sighed softly before lifting her head up, her long blond wavy hair falling over her shoulders. She got up, walked to the mirror and looked at her face. A dusting of freckles covering both of her cheeks. She smiled at herself ready to start her first day as an officer in training for astrology warfare. As a Leo she was always prepared to fight for what she loved. Leo's like her always followed a simple motto: "Eyes on the prize, Feet on the ground, Heart on fire." She recited this to herself quietly as she brushed her blonde, blue streaked hair as it lay softly in her hands, the wavy strands curling around her fingers.

There was a knock at her door. Zoe paused "come in", she said looking at the door. A group of uniformed men appeared which had the Leo sign engraved into it, "Miss Zoe Light-wood?" One of the guards questioned looking at Zoe. "Yes sir?" she responded standing up and putting her hairbrush on the desk. "Get dressed please madam, as your training begins today" he informed, looking at the ground as Zoe was in her pj's. He tossed her a brown suitcase, which upon opening revealed her uniform, with the Leo sign also embedded. She smiled and looked at them. "Yes sir" and with that the men left, closing the door behind them.

After she got changed, she opened the door, and walked out feeling a soft breeze on her face. She looked to her left seeing one of the male officers from earlier, he looked to her and gestured for her to follow, she did so.

He lead her to a large field, a group of other officers in training gathered across from them, they walked to them, "Welcome new cadet, Miss Light-wood" said one of the officers leading the group, they all turned to face Zoe, she blushed in embarrassment and then walked into the group to listen. The Lead officer said his name was Klaus, and that he would be their main trainer, He also happened to be running for King, which was terms for the Leo king, the leader of the Leo Planet, Zoe listened carefully knowing this was important, "right now let's begin" he said smiling and putting his arms out, then without hesitation he started running backwards then did a little jump and faced forwards running off down the field towards the forest.

everyone hesitated and then someone yelled "go!" and so they all did, they ran following Klaus, their lungs heaving with exhaustion by the time they got to the forest, "good job guys, now do 50 push-ups" he said, the response was of course a small moan in annoyance from most of the group, however Zoe got right to it, she didn't mind push-ups. Klaus put his hands on his hips "make that 70 if you complain" he added, no one complained any longer, after the push ups were done Klaus made the group do 20 planks, and then 50 more push-ups, then lastly he got the group to run all the way back to the start, Zoe was exhausted and so were the rest of the group, "now, that our warm up is over we can begin" said Klaus, that time Zoe did sigh in frustration along with the entire group, Klaus simply laughed and gestured for them to follow, about after one hour of more endless running, they got to the town square, and entered a silver metal made, building, inside sat glasses of water which Klaus told us to drink, so we did, in the next room was a lounge area with pastries and cookies, Klaus walked us right past that area, the next section was the part he was looking for, a gym a very large gym, with a ring for fighting, boxing bags for punching, snipers, machetes, weapons of all kinds sat on a wall, "welcome" Klaus said "To your next year of training", everyone applauded in excitement, and next thing that was happening was everyone beginning to punch bags, and firing weapons at targets.

Zoe stood, a rifle in her arms, she breathed softly, her hair fell across her face, she aimed at the target, and shot it within seconds. "Good shot" she heard Klaus say, she turned around and smiled "thanks" he nodded in respect, they locked into each other's eyes for a second before he walked off to some boys who were messing around with a knife, Zoe sighed and then turned back to the target hitting it once again.

The next few weeks involved Zoe pushing herself constantly, it was physically challenging for herself and her Leo teammates, but she kept going, some backed out and said they could not do it, Klaus and Zoe grew closer, starting with friends, "Friends?" he said to her one night after they had a drink together, they sat on the deck outside the training room. "Yeah, Friends" She said, he elbowed her playfully, she smiled back blushing softly. "You did good today, Light-wood" He said, taking another sip of his drink. Zoe looked at him, "Yeah I try my best" she said, "are you still running for King?" she asked, he ruffled his hair a bit before looking at her, "yeah I am, The ceremony is next month, Do I have your vote?" he said hopefully, "Yeah of course you do" she said elbowing him, he smiled and laughed softly, "your the best" he said, before standing up and stretching his arms.

"get some sleep okay?" he said looking down at her, she stood up "Yeah okay" she said looking at him, he walked down the steps slowly, Zoe stared at his back, he wore a white singlet but Zoe could just make out the Leo tattoo engraved into his skin. "Goodnight Cadet" he said walking away from the building holding his drink in the air in triumph. She smiled after him before turning and walking into the building towards her new chambers which she moved to not long after training first began.
