"Alright now, listen up!" Rango yelled, holding on to his belt. Rango was having a town meeting and he was standing on a wooden platform where everyone can see him. "So far, we've had a pretty good year with no trouble."
"What about the no good trouble makers that always try to step foot in this here town?" One Person said.
"Yeah.. about that, I did scare those troublemakers out of town." Rango awkwardly smiled.
"Listen, we gotta give it to Rango for not allowing Bad Bill to come in here." Waffles said in his scratchy voice.
"Yes..th-thank you there Waffles." Rango tipped his hat.
"What about that no good Rattlesnake Jake?" Priscilla asked.
As soon as Priscilla said that, most of the townspeople started to panic. Since they are still afraid of Jake, besides him and Rango making a peaceful deal. Rango was trying to calm the crowd down, and thankfully for him they did. Rango looked around, worriedly, still trying to remain brave. "Oh yeah.. don't worry there, Jake and I have been nothing but in good terms."
"Sheriff, what about our beach area?" Ambrose Asked, pointing to the beach.
"Oh don't you worry, I've been going there back and fourth there." Rango proudly put out his chest.
Suddenly, a person working at the haircut salon, came running out and towards Rango.
"Sheriff! We just go robbed!"
Rango got down from the wooden platform and pulled out his gun.
"What! Who was it and did you recognize his voice?"
"Sheriff, Don't you think it's a better idea of checking the salon out." Elgin said, in a deep quiet voice.
"Oh.. that's right! You see a sheriff already knows.." Rango awkwardly said, going on his road runner horse.
As Rango rode off towards the salon, he heard some windows breaking. He got off of his road runner quick and pointed his gun inside of the small building.
"Get out and put your hands where I can see them!" Rango yelled.
However, no one answered.
"Alright, I'm going in!" Rango yelled and opened the door hard.
As he was looking around, he didn't find no one except a broke window and the cashier stolen.
"Damn, I was too late." Rango thought.
As he put his gun into the holster, he happened to see a small note, near the broke window. To The Sheriff: You will never find me, Dirt will be nothing except an abandoned town.
"That's a challenge there." Rango thought.
He suddenly heard the townspeople walking to the salon.
Rango came out with not except a note.
"Did you catch him sheriff?" Furgus said, holding on to a shovel.
"Now, I-I didn't, but all there was left was this note and the cashier is gone." Rango said.
Everyone started to look at each other, worried that this ghostly robber might come back.
"But don't you worry now, I will try my best to bring this secret robber to justice." Rango said, hoping it would ease the crowds' worry.
He called his Bird horse back to him, and as soon as he jumped on, he felt a small hand grab his leg.
He looked and it was Priscilla.
"Sheriff, can you promise me you will find him?" She asked with a worried look on her face.
Rango sighed.
"I can't promise you, but I will try my best."
"A try is a yes to me." She smiled.
He smiled back and noticed the crowd starting to come to them.
"Now look here, I will go look around town and near our beach area for this culprit." Rango said, as he made his bird run off.
As Rango rode that bird all over Dirt and the desert that is around the town, he found no trouble whatsoever. Until, a few hours later, something interesting happened. As He rode near the town's beach area, he heard shovels and digging on dry land. Confused, he got off his road runner, and slowly walked towards the sound.
He heard familiar voices and laughing.
He did get close, but where he can hide, he heard the voices clear.
"I can't wait to see the face of that man who hired us!" One person said.
"You got that right, That man's face will be the most awesome in this here desert!" Another man said, laughing after he said that.
Rango was worried and trying to figure out who or what are they doing.
He slowly walked up and thought of making a scene. He wanted to walk towards them looking Tough and everything.
As soon as he walked to them, he pulled out his gun.
"You boys are at the wrong place." Rango said, cocking his gun and pointing it to the two unknown people. "And unfortunately, for me it's the right time."
The dust was in the way from the digging, but as soon as it went away. Rango couldn't believe his eyes.
It was Jedidiah and Ezekiel!
"Uh.. Jedidiah?! Ezekiel!? What are you guys doing?" Rango said in shock.
"It's not what it looks like Sheriff!" Ezekiel shouted.
"Yeah, it's does what it looks like!" Jedidiah said idiotically.
"You fool Jedidiah!" Ezekiel shouted and punched his arm.
"What are you guys doing." Rango said tougher.
He pointed his gun towards the brothers, getting ready to pull the trigger.
"Sheriff, were serious! We are just looking for something for someone." Ezekiel worriedly yelled.
"Then explain to me, what that something you are looking for is!" Rango yelled louder.
"Sheriff, we are working for someone." Jedidiah said. Putting his arms up.
"You fool!" Ezekiel punched Jedidiah.
Rango shot a bullet in the air, causing both Ezekiel and Jedidiah to stop.
"Now I am going to ask again, who are you working for!" Rango yelled.
"Unfortunately Sheriff, we can't say."
Rango was close to pulling the trigger, but he's never shot anyone. If they weren't threatening him or his friends of course. But here, they weren't, but they wouldn't give him what he needs.
"Fine." Rango said, as he put away his gun. "But since you ain't talking, I'm going to have to put you in Jail."
He grabbed both Ezekiel and Jedidiah by the arms and wrapped them with rope.
By the time he got back to Dirt, many townsfolk were looking at Ezekiel and Jedidiah.
"We made peace with y'all!" One person said in the crowd.
They started to throw stuff at the now two criminals.
Rango got off his Road Runner horse, and pulled out his gun and shot a bullet in the air. Shutting the crowd's loud yelling.
"As long I'm sheriff, none of you are going to kill or beat these two!" He yelled, still pointing the gun up.
"Well how come you arrested them! What did they do then?" Spoons yelled.
"Because I found them digging near our beach area."
"Digging for what, our gold, our freedom!"
"Calm down Spoons! I promise I will figure out who is behind this." Rango yelled back at spoons.
He got them off the road runner and took them to the jail house. There, he untied them and sat them down near a wooden table.
"Now, I want you to be honest with me, why won't you tell me who you fellows are working for?" Rango said in a deep voice.
"Sheriff.. I-I swear if we tell you, he might kill us!" Ezekiel said, shaking in fear.
"Once again, as long as I'm sheriff, ain't nobody going to come get you two."
Rango stopped talking and thought of who could've been behind this small robbery in the process.
"Is the person that your working for is Bad Bill?" Rango asked, with a little bit of nervousness in his voice. He is not afraid of Bad Bill, but just how he is faster of handling a gun.
"No Sheriff, We haven't seen Bad Bill come near town since you've been here." Jedidiah said, sucking on his thumb.
"Now that, is why he must be telling y'all to come near my town." Rango slammed his fit on the table.
"Rango please, We haven't talked to Bad Bill. He is not behind this!" Ezekiel yelled at Rango.
"You see those people?" Rango pointed out the window, seeing the whole town getting angry.
"I will let those people beat the heck outta you, if you don't give me what I want."
Ezekiel and Jedidiah looked at each other.
"Alright! Fine we'll tell you." Ezekiel yelled. "But please promise us Sheriff."
"Promise you what?"
"Promise that you will let us live."
"Oh I will let you live." Rango said. "But I let you live in this here Jail cell."
"That's fine with us!" Ezekiel said. "The person who is behind all this is a man named Scarface."
Rango stopped for a second, realizing that he hasn't met this Scarface guy. And he's been a sheriff for a year now.
"Wait, is he responsible for this note?" Rango asked, pulling out the note from his pocket.
"Yes-Yes thats him, he put it there." Ezekiel said. "Now I don't know why he hired us if he is robbing himself, but yes he was the one that wrote that letter.
Rango furiously crushed the note in his hand and threw it down.
"Where does this Scarface live?" Rango asked Both of them.
"Unfortunately, we don't know Sheriff." Ezekiel said, shaking. "But what I do know, is that Rattlesnake Jake might know who he is!"
Rango stopped once again, now he did make a good and peaceful deal with him. But, still seeing how terrifying he is, of course he still has some fear of him.
"Fine." Rango grabbed his gun out of his holster. "Let me go talk with Jake."END OF CHAPTER
