"Are you sure they will like me?" I sighed into the phone as I changed my outfit again for the fourth time.

"Seriously!?" Ally, my best friend since like kindergarten, exclaimed exasperatedly from the speaker of my brand new iPhone.

My father decided, when he broke the news to me about the fact he was dating someone seriously, for a long time without telling me, that I may freak out a bit and, not in the good way. So, the phone was a just in case gift. I didn't freak out but, my dad still gave me the phone anyways.

"Yes, seriously, I mean I don't want the other girl in my dad's life to not get along with me. Plus, she also has a daughter my age, what if she is like evil!?" I respond agitated at my friends tone as I threw another shirt on the accumulating pile of clothes that I decided not to wear.

"Everyone! Likes! You!" Ally's voice rang through out the room from the phone.

"Not everyone!" I replied easily, as I smiled at my reflection, I wore a light blue button down blouse and, dark blue skinny jeans with brown ankle boots.

"Yes, everyone, name someone who doesn't like you." She answered, with confidence lacing her tone.

I racked my brain for for people who didn't like me, as I cautiously applied my mascara.

"That boy, Evan, in third grade threw sand at me at recess." I answered, chuckling at my lame example. It's not my fault I'm just a great conversationalist and really likable. I don't mean that to sounds snooty, it's not like I'm your average snobby "everyone LOVES me!" cheerleader.

At our school I am just generally known by everyone and I'm not bullied and I stick close with my friends. Jocks and brainiacs (Because I think nerd is offensive) both male and female all generally like me as a person even if we don't talk much, a fleeting hello or a forgotten pencil incident.

Never have I heard rumors about me or have I been called names. I don't know why, drama for some reason has always seemed to stead clear of me.

That does not mean I am the most out going person socially especially, when it's comes to cute sweet boys then, I'm just as tongue tied as any other teenage girl.

"Please, the boy was a third grader and, all people know when your little that means they LIKE you," She said, with a strong emphasis on the word like.

"Okay fine, Ally, no one I remember has ever really disliked me, but, that doesn't change the fact that I'm nervous" I replied with a small sigh.

I carefully brushed through my waist long dirty blond hair and began to style it into a side braid that would hopefully, have no fly aways. I know for a fact that girls have been envious of the length of my hair but let me tell you, it is not all it's cracked up to be! Wind is your worst enemy, I once became entangled in my own hair and caring for it is not a walk in the park at all, plus, you go through shampoo and conditioner like (finger snap) that.

"Trust me Bridget, every thing will be okay. I'm sorry I've got to go Allen is here to take me to the movies, love you b*tch, talk to you later. AND HAVE FUN!" Ally answered supportively, and just a fyi Allen is her long term boyfriend since freshman year. They have been together just under four years and they still act like a lovey-dovey couple, and don't even get me started on the amount of PDA. BLAH!

Satisfied with my hair I sat on my temporary bed as I waited for my dad to return from the store. We were currently staying at a small hotel in Minnesota a long ways aways from our home in San Fransisco, California.

My dad travels a lot for work creating mergers and stuff between east coast and west coast companies, he happens to travel on a pretty constant basis to Minnesota which was where he met Laura, his girlfriend. I'm pretty excited to meet her but nervous also to say the least.
