Her...

It was still early in the morning when Heaven woke up, rising from her bed and seeing that it was still a bit dark out.

The strain and slight ache on her body was felt, but she paid no attention to it and proceeded to prepare for the day.

It was barely five in the morning, but it was a common thing for her to wake up this early. After all, morning cafe was her business.

After showering and making sure to wear comfortable clothes, Heaven first made her way to the other room where her father was sleeping soundly.

His light snores made her chuckle lowly, and with silence, she closed his door, proceeding two floors down and into the cafe.

She first had to make sure that everything was in place, the chairs and tables, that the counter was clean, and the menu for this day was well-organized.

After looking around and finding herself satisfied with the neatness, Heaven made her way through the backdoor and into the kitchen, grabbing her uniform and hair net to start her day.

The cafe she owned was just enough in size to accommodate customers throughout the day, and even though she only opened last month, the cafe was well loved.

It took her almost half a year to transfer her business to her home town, and she was a bit disappointed to leave her life in the city as well as close down her branch there, but she knew it was necessary.

It was now or never, she thought when she decided to move back and be with her father. Ever since her mother's passing, she knew that time would come that her father would need her help and care.

So, her she was, back where everything started.

Almost two hours passed and Heaven was done with most of her baking, the delicious scent of pastries and bread spread throughout the kitchen and into the cafe as she stepped towards the door and opening it with her key, knowing that Marie would come soon.

She only had two employees, Marie and Jenna. They were great and didn't need much supervision, which made it easier for her to stay in the kitchen and avoid the people.

She loved what she do, but ever since moving back, Heaven knew that she didn't have the courage to face people yet.

Ten years later, and she was still a coward.

"Morning, Marie." she greeted at Marie as she was wiping the coffee machines, smiling at her employee who smiled back. Marie was a beautiful woman, and Heaven was sure that she'd have a good life after college. She was intelligent, responsible and kind.

"Good morning, Ma'am." Marie smiled at her, and although Heaven had told her multiple times to just call her by her name, Marie was relentless.

Her reason was that she was the boss, she was older, and that she looked so wise that she needed to be respected.

Heaven remembered laughing at her reason.

The minutes passed as the sun slowly rose, the gentle hue of yellow and orange lighting the front of the cafe and reflecting in the mirrors as the streets slowly became busy.

Heaven had a smile on her face as she finished up in the counter, Marie taking her place by the cashier and preparing coffee cup for the usual customers while Heaven stepped back.

It was time she got back to the kitchen and finish up, and Jenna would soon come to help Marie by the counter.

Heaven missed the feeling of greeting the people who came to her cafe, of being able to have a light conversation with her usual customers or even be the one to take their orders.
