Mikasa gave a small pained groan as she woke up, sitting up with a hand to her forehead and purposely keeping her eyes tightly closed. She swallowed down the pule that was slowly forcing it's way up her throat and took a few shaky breaths. Finally swinging her legs over the edge of the sofa and resting her elbows in her thighs, burying her face into her palms while the room spins around her. 

"I'd say morning but it's more the afternoon now, I think. My clock is cracked and I can't see anything between twelve and six" Levi mumbled out from where he leaned his back against the counter edge, arms crossed over his chest and he purposely kept weapons out of his personal reach to show he wasn't a threat to her. 

"Why didn't you kill me?" Mikasa asked, her voice horsed and she made no effect to move or even gain a single glance towards him. 

"You weren't infected. I try not to waste a life, not when those rotten bastards are doing that for us. But make no mistake, if you twitch and try to bite me .. I'll kill you in a heartbeat" Levi admits honestly as he saw no use in lying to her right now and keeping his eyes glued to her, waiting for any signs that she may have been secretly bitten all along. 

"How did you get in?" Mikasa asked as she lifted her head, running a hand through her hair and keeping herself sat on the edge while her head throbbed like hell itself. 

"Why aren't you checking if I'm with the other guys?" Levi curiously asked as he slowly walked towards her, stepping around the end counter more than needed to show he wasn't going to suddenly grab the axe left on top. 

"The look in your eyes .. you're out for blood like I am. If you were with them than you'd put me in my place by now but you haven't. They also mentioned over being an trio group ... being a team of four won't make them a trio anymore. What made you break in to their home?" Mikasa answers quietly as she finally lifts her head, her gaze falling on his face and taking in all the details he thought he had hidden around.  

Levi stayed silent for a moment, playing with the unopened bottle of water in his hands and staring down at her. He wondered when she got a tiny read on him or when she ever looked at him. She's been passed out for hours now and she definitely didn't look at him when she first woke up. Deciding it wasn't worth the trouble to ask so many problematic questions, he moved on. 

"They took people I know like they've done to you. I've came to bring them back but I wanted to grab something first and steal a few bits" Levi signs as he holds out the bottle of water towards her, a small peace offering as he knew how weird this all was for the pair of them. 

"How can I help?" Mikasa asked without a second thought, opening the lid of the water bottle and soon taking a mouthful after blurting out her question. Levi, purposely looked away and shoved down his disgust as he knew the drugs must be rather strong to make her chug down half of the bottle in one go. He knew how desperate a person can be for water sometimes, he's drank in some inhumanly ways before. So, he won't pass judgment on her for this time. 

"By the both of us agreeing to a truce. Normally we'd have no reason to trust one another but we're both after the same end goal. Returning what was taken from us. I won't try to kill you unless you try to kill me, as a human being or as one of those creatures. In return, you don't try to kill me and I won't try to kill you in return. I'll be kind enough to even warn you straight away if I do get bitten, well as soon as I've noticed the bite mark at least. I've met someone who didn't even feel the bite and just turned without much warning. So, we both better be carefully over such shitty luck" Levi replied without skipping a beat since he's been thinking over this ever since he finished packing everything he needed. He knew a truce was needed and knew to keep it as basic as they could to make sure that neither would have a reason to break it. 

"And what happens once we find what we lost?" Mikasa curiously asked, smart enough to know to check about the aftermath. She's seen some kill each other on the spot as soon as the truce ends. 

"A full day truce afterwards. Give us time to leave with what we're chasing after without fear over any betrayal straight away. Sounds fair?" Levi answered with a small nod as he already thought over it all and wanted to make sure his own friends were kept safe afterwards. 

"Sounds fair. But we make it a two day extra truce if we end up hiding out in the same place after returning what we've lost. I don't want anyone I know being used as bait so you can escape with the people you're after. Sounds fair?" Mikasa muttered back as she placed the lid back on, placing the bottle down on the table and wiping at her chin since she did dribble a little earlier. 

"Sounds perfect to me. Ready to shake on it?" Levi asked as he held his hand out towards her and happy with their formed truce idea so far. 

"As ready as I'm gonna be" Mikasa admitted with a small frown as she raised her own hand. 

Without any hesitation they were soon gripping the other's hand and shaking it firmly. The truce was sealed between them and right now, they could actually place their lives in each other. Neither had a reason to break their truce and if they did.. it would only damage their chances in recusing those they've lost to Nick and Mark. 

"No names" Levi grumbled out as he made his way back towards the kitchen area again. 

"Fine with me" Mikasa admits with a small shrug. The more distance she kept between them the better for the both of them. She only needed to care for three people in her life, her two friends and her missing brother who held a chance at still being alive somewhere out there. She didn't need the hassle of accidently caring for someone else.
