Once there was a great division.
An epoch when creatures of the earth lived isolated from one another and creatures of the sea were not aware of their earthly brethren.
Each realm of the Seven was separated from the other until a time when the Supreme goddess Cret opened up their borders allowing the realms to interact with themselves. She made it known that every realm treat one another as brethren despite their obvious differences.
Afterwards, there was peace and tranquility for a time amongst the seven realms; Humans married Elves, Elves mingled with Crystal Fairies, Shades married Gypsies and a whole new generation of cross breed creatures were born, filling the earth with diversity yet oneness.
Sadly, this peace would not last.
A different era came when the goddess of magic and witchcraft; a woman called Hekate, began to alter the minds of men; twisting the intellect of Elves and setting creatures against themselves. A war broke out from all seven realms and a great deal of death and pain washed over the world for over a thousand years.
The Supreme goddess Cret who was the deity of Light and Love was greatly disturbed by this turbulence. She summoned some of the gods from the five known realms of power. With the support of these deities, Cret proposed a simple way to bring back peace to the world.
A vote was taken and Jolan, the goddess of peace and purity was sent to repair the cleave between the Seven Realms. Jolan succeeded in healing the rift but the Lords and Kings of the Seven Realms vowed never to come in contact with one another, going back to how they were in the old days. A rule was made that whoever would cross into another realm that was not his hometown or his extended family's hometown or had no business there would be put to death without trial or in his attempt to cross, he would be devoured by a dangerous border creature called a Triad.
During The Great War, a number of Realms were greatly affected. Bremeton, the Land of Humans lost half its entire population, rendering a huge part of the realm near barren. This remained so for generations and generations. The surviving Humans, the ones who had married Gypsies and Outcasts went off to dwell in Ezkaliepton. It was during this time of the great desertion of Bremeton that we see a Human named Stump.
Stump will only matter in the beginning of this story because after that, he is not mentioned much.
Stump was a man whom nobody knew his last name. He resided with the other Outcasts in their land and was a loyal worshipper of the moon goddess Selene even though the Ezkaliens worshipped only Zakoon, the god of physical beauty and philosophy. Stump was different from every body else and wanted to bring the worship of Selene to the Ezkaliens. He was indeed obsessed with the goddess to an unbelievable extent that this pushed the people to drive him back to his barren homeland of Bremeton.
Stump spent a long number of years in his isolation. He built a temple to the moon goddess and sculpted a statue in her honor. Every night and every day he would pray to the goddess, offering sacrifices to her from his daily meal which was not even enough to sustain him.
Selene finally looked down on the Human, taking immense pity on him. She assumed the form of a young mortal maiden and brushed by his home as a damsel in distress. Stump rescued her and showed her kindness and hospitality. Selene remained with Stump and soon his unwavering belief in the goddess moved her to bless Bremeton for his sake, making it one of the most fruitful in all Seven Realms. The barren land became full of life, drawing Humans that had once left back to their homeland.
Stump remained unaware of his mysterious maiden's real identity as the moon goddess herself. The people who had once cast him out came back to plead his forgiveness. Stump was a good man so he forgave them all and a new life started in Bremeton.
Stump finally married the maiden and they lived happily together for quite a long while.
Within a particular year, the maiden fell pregnant with Stump's child. This became the first time in ages that an Entonian goddess had ever bore a mortal baby. The supreme goddess Cret visited Selene in secret and petitioned her to return to Enton and assume her godly duties again for it was a taboo for Selene to remain in the mortal world and nurse a child. After giving birth, Selene secretly ascended back to her duties in Enton leaving Stump confused as to where his wife had gone.
Stump was overcome with great grief and earnestness to find his missing wife. He searched and searched but his wife was nowhere to be found. Everyone suddenly claimed they had never seen her before even with Stump's detailed description of her.
He became confused yet ardent.
One day, Stump decided to broaden the search for his wife by venturing into other realms, ignoring the fact that crossing into another realm was considered a grave crime and punishable by death. Stump prepared himself for his journey but just before he left, he placed his infant child inside a bassinet woven from a selcouth wool of silvery white and placed it on the doorstep of an Elf called HalfHyde.
After that, Stump was never seen or heard from again.
Meanwhile, HalfHyde found the suckling child outside his house. The Elf felt sympathy for the infant and went around town looking for its true parent with no luck.
He finally gave up and decided to bring the child home. He vowed to raise her as if she were his own. He vowed to teach her the things he knew, the songs he had learned as a child, the knowledge of everything Elven and otherwise, and that he would train her to become the best swordswoman to ever walk the Land of Humans.
HalfHyde brought up the little girl whom he named Waverly but things did not quite turn out to be as easy as he had hoped.
