There was nothing for me to begin with. I was born into a poor family—everyday was a struggle. We would fight for scraps of food and we would steal to just get by. I guess it's another day in the Undercity. Then at some point she came along and suddenly I had something. I had something to keep me going and someone to have by my side. I was like an incomplete puzzle and she was the last piece. There was harmony and beauty at first— such a delicate love we had—however, it became a dark wicked thing. It was evil. It was suffocating. We both fought to leave but we always came back to each other. There was no leaving in our relationship. There was no living. There was just surviving and we were just trying not to drown in the repeating waves. Sometimes it was her—the wave— and sometimes it was me. That soon became our harmony.
