Tobio Kageyama x male reader

Chapter 1

Y/n)'s Pov:

I groan loudly as my alarm blares, slamming my hand down on it as I sit up. I look around my room to see unopened boxes everywhere and plan walls, oh yeah...I forgot I sigh and stand, opening a box labeled bathroom, digging out shower stuff and other hygiene items. I rub my eyes and head to the bathroom. Turning on the water and allowing it to warm up I get ready and step in, turning it into a shower. Once I finish, I wrap my towel around my waist and stare into the mirror some sighing, I shake my head and do the rest of my morning routine. I head back to my room, going to my closet, currently, the only thing in it is my school uniform. I get it on and grab my phone and headphones before heading out the front door and going to school. 

~after school~

I run and get changed into some gym clothes, I'm not on the volleyball team officially yet but that doesn't mean I can't get in some practice. I rush to the gym, once I'm close enough I hear the sound of the volleyball, hitting the ground, and shoes against the ground. My excitement grows and I get to the door throwing it open to see a boy, a bit taller than me with black hair, practicing sending sets, to no one. I grin, rushing in as his last set goes towards the net and leap up slamming it down.

I land, chuckling, "that was amazing!" I shout slightly before turning to the black-haired boy, "(y/n) (l/n), sorry about just coming in like that, I saw the set and couldn't help it" I laugh slightly and hold my hand out. Then I notice, he looks both annoyed and amazed, but fair enough. He takes my hand and shakes it,

"Tobio Kageyama" is all he says before pulling back. I sigh,
"Okay fair enough Kageyama, it was rude the way I just jumped in, but how about sending me some tosses?" I grin slightly at him. He had a ball in his hand already again, thinking for a moment,
"Sure," he tosses me the ball, catching it, I know he wants me to throw it up first. I do so then run back enough, getting a running start, I go to slam the ball down over the net when suddenly we hear a loud voice, 

"WHAAA T-THE KING?!" the voice booms not happy. This causes me to completely lose focus and fall on my back, knocking the wind out of me. I start gasping and coughing. Kageyama rushes over to me,

"(L/n) are you okay?" He says helping me sit up and trying to help me regain my breath. After a few minutes, I finally catch a good breath and my breathing starts back to normal,
"Yeah, I'm okay thanks Kags" I mumble holding onto his arm tightly not even thinking. He helps me up and double-checks to make sure I'm okay before he heads towards the voice, who I can now see is a short boy, with orange hair, and starts shouting at him for how stupid that was. I stumble slowly over to the side of the gym and tune them out as they go on for a little bit, till I see the orange-haired boy in front of me, bowing, 

"I'm sorry!" He shouts out. I chuckle softly,

"It's okay carrot top, I'm (Y/n) (L/n)" I'm sitting in a position where I can hold my back and stomach almost like I have to. He straights out,
"Shoyo Hinata," he says softly. I just smile at him and close my eyes, knowing I will have to go to the nurse later. Some time goes by before I hear more voices, they sound older, Kageyama and Hinata were fighting that much I knew. I open my eyes; I see three older high school boys and a much older man. Then I look to the court where they were looking to see Kageyama serving to Hinata and he tries to receive it, failing miserably. The ball goes flying as one of the upperclassmen tries to get them to stop and the older gentleman is saying something about respect and captain.

Ooofffff

The ball slammed right into the VP and sent- his toupee flying. I did my best to hold back my laughter and I wasn't the only one. I stand and head over, holding my back still,
"Sir are you okay?" I ask softly. He was pissed. We all get a lecture,
Why am I being lectured? I was trying to make sure he was okay
In the end, we were made to swear we would breathe a word to anyone.
The two known as Kageyama and Hinata got kicked out of the gym and finally, I get to introduce myself. The one 3rd year short than me, dark hair speaks up, "I'm Daichi, the captain" he says softly. We speak for a while before they begin to practice so I am about to head out when suddenly,  

"CAPTAIN!!!!" We hear two voices below from outside. Daichi, Tanka, and Suga open the door. The tall black-haired boy and the short orange-haired boy are standing there determined, suddenly challenging them to a game. The captain accepts before allowing me to get past and then shutting the door. I walk off and go get changed.

~at home~

I walk into the house,
"Ma? Are you home?" I call out, sighing at no response and a note on the table.

Here's some money for dinner, I wanted to be home, but work called with an emergency, I'm sorry

I sit the note down and head to my room and change. Then I start to unpack.

~hours later~

I finish unpacking, sweating heavily. I pull my shirt up and wipe off the sweat with a cloth I have with me. I lift off my shirt and crawl into bed, trying to sleep but can't as my mind keeps wandering.

Kageyama....he seems so cold...but the second I was hurt...he rushed to help me. He...he's cute and hot.... the way he sets a ball too...man I hope we get to play together...

I drift off to sleep with thoughts of the other first-year I meet today.
