Samantha's POV

It was Zariel's first day of school and we're running late.

"Quick, quick, Mommy!" Zariel said as she pulled me toward the crowd.

"Excuse me." I said to everyone person we bumped.

"Oh! Here we are baby. Love you." I said to her when we reached her classroom.

"Love you, too." She said and hug me before she left.

On my way home. I received a text from Alyssa.

Coversation

A: i dreamed I was an inanimate object.
S:You dreamt you were an inanimate object?
A:Yeah, I mean, come on. An arrow flying through  the air!

S: That's pretty cool.

I know Aly when she has a problem. I also know that she will tell me when she's ready.

Alyssa's POV

"I don't understand. How can you be a thing?" Alexa said and laugh at me.

"I don't know. I've always had dreams like that." I responded as I was tidying up the dinning table.

"It sounds to me like self-esteem issues, sweetie." She said and throw the left over food in the trash bin.

"You may need to talk to someone." I didn't talk. Unlike Sam, Alexa thinks I'm going insane.

"You know, there are razor hairs in the bathroom, again today." I know where this is leading.

"Really?" I said nonchalantly it's a repeating cycle.

"You know it gives me allergies. Next time you have one of your weird dreams, maybe you should dreamvyou're something useful like a vacuum cleaner." I tried to compose myself before talking.

"We have a cleaning lady." I told her emphasizing every word.

"What do you want? For her to think we're a pair of f***-ups?" She shouted. She never lose an argument. Never.

"That's exactly what we are." I shouted before leaving her in the kitchen.

I left the apartment for a walk.

Samantha's POV

"Whoo!" Zarie cheered up as we  tumbling by the sand.

"You okay?" I ask her when I saw her stop.

"I've got sand in my eyes." She said. I blow air in her eyes and then she came back runnign around again.

"Look at Mommy!" I said when we are making a sand castle.

Fast forward...

Zariel was already sleeping and Chie visited earlier to have dinner with us. And told her About Alyssa.

"What have you told the poor brat?" Chie asked and show me a drawing of Zarie's. I told her I'm going to Boston.

"No! Just that she sent me a ticket. I've got no expectations." I said. I really got none. I just wanted to see how she was doing.

"Well, good, because she's got a girlfriend. Although you know it's funny, her name didn't come up once." Chie said and laugh.

"Yeah, well, Zarie's mature enough to know that when it comes to men, it doesn't matter." I said while staring at Zarie's drawing.

"Yeah, well, Zarie also knows that something must have triggeredhis sudden enthusiasm to see her mom,
who, by the way, knows her better than anyone, and is clearly the best person to judge!" Chie said mocking me.

The next day Chie drove me to the airport. I left Zarie with her for a while. They got along pretty well.

I landed at Boston at exactly 12am and Alyssa pick me up.

" Oh, and, uh..." We hug awkwardly and she gave a bouquet of flowers.

"All right! All right! Good to see you!" I said before breaking up the hug. It's been a while simce we hug like that.

"So, tired? Hungry?" She ask excitedly.

"No. Why?" I answered confusely.

"Come on." She grabbed my hand and I let her drag me with her.

We ended uo in a party in one of her peers in the university.

"Do you want another?" Alyssa ask when she saw my cup was empty.

"Ah. Yeah" She took my cup.

"All right. I'll be back, okay?" She left to get me a new one. So I dance while waiting for her.

"So, you're new here. I'm Jonathan!" A random guy that look like Jesus approached me.

"Samantha!" I told him my name just because I don't want to be a snob.

"Samantha? So what do you do, Sam?" Oh wow. He shortened my name already.

"I'm a mom!" I shouted because of the loud music.

"Is that some kind of, uh, performance thing? You're a drama major?" I laugh yeah righ as if you look like a mom Sam, no mother is up partying at 1 am.

"I'm a mother of a 5-year-old girl!" I told him. He dance for a while then he started to slip off. Hahaha of course no one would want to be with a mom.

"Cool! Cool!" he said before vanishing in the crowd.

"A gin and tonic." Alyssa said as she handed me a cup of booze.

Moments later her peers approached her.  "Cell? Car keys? Oh, dude. Come on. Guys, guys, guys, no, no, no!" But they wouldn't listen and throw her to the pool.

"Come on, come on! Come on! Please! It's gonna happen! One, two, three! Okay, okay!" The crowed cheered. I laugh hard while watching her slam in the pool water.

"Sam, come on, come..." She pleaded when I refuse to help her up. Hahaha I'm busy laughing at her.

"Can you give me a hand now?" She waited until I'm done laughing.

"All right." I said and offered my hand. I didn't exactly pull her and I also end up falling in the pool.

"Come on. Come on! I'm sorry, I'm sorry." I was  caught of guard and now I was soaked all over.

"Oh. You're looking way too hot right now, Sam. Come on, all right, okay." And then I remember I was wearing a white top and it became see through when I got soaked. I turned my back on Aly covering myself pretending to be sulking.

"If you want it like that...." I said and jump at her.

"No, no, no!" She shouted but its too late. We're already playing.
