" Best Friends"

Chapter 8

[Last Chapter]

Jungwon was running against time. He didn’t know when Riki was leaving , he might leave today , tomorrow , or right as Jungwon is heading towards his apartment. Jungwon didn’t stop along the way, he was breathless yet still kept running because he wanted to make things right.

Jungwon ran and ran until he arrived at the place he wanted to be at. He just stood there trying to catch his breath. As much as he wants to stop Riki from leaving he can't just go in there without being able to say a word. After he caught his breath he nervously walked to the apartment.

Knocking on the door not really expecting Riki to answer it but in hopes that Sunghoon would answer it. His hopes were not heard because once that door opened his eyes met with a destroyed Riki. His eyes were red and puffy , his hair was a mess and he still had on the same clothes from the other day.

Riki had woken up and decided he couldn’t stay in bed any longer. He looked in the mirror and saw his distraught state. Just looking at himself reminded him of what had happened. Riki noticed his unfinished luggage on the floor and continued to pack as he was packing he heard someone at the door. Sunghoon had gone out for a erran so he went to answer it. 

As Riki was walking to the door he realized he looked like hell but he didn’t care and answered the door anyway. What he didn’t expect to see was an out of breath jungwon. Seeing Jungwon trying to catch his breath gave him a sense of dejavu. Both boys were just staring into each other's eyes. Riki was the first one to break eye contact because he felt his eyes getting watery. “Sunghoon isn't here he'll be back late though “ Riki said while closing the door but before he did Jungwon stopped it “You know i'm not here for Sunghoon” Jungwon spoke with a soft upset tone. Riki turned around and headed back to his room , Jungwon followed behind. 

Once they entered Riki’s room the first thing Jungwon spotted was the open suitcase that was almost full. Riki started to pack again without paying attention to Jungwon. Jungwon went up behind Riki and wrapped his arms around his waist. At first Riki was going to push him off but Junhwon felt so much like home he just couldn’t bring himself to push him off. Jungwon’s back hug didn't stop Riki from packing and although he was happy Riki didn’t reject his hug he was still packing. “ Riki … I love you” he whispered and kissed his back. 

Riki was surprised to say the least. His eyes once again filled up with tears but he couldn’t cry, not again. “ Jungwon you said it yourself you have a girlfriend” Riki spoke now trying to get the other to let go. Jungwon wasn’t planning to let go , “ please, just stay with me . Just for a little” jungwon was now crying on Riki’s back.

The boys were now on the bed in each other's arms. They just laid in a comfortable silence. As much as Jungwon wanted to stay like this forever he wanted to make things right between them. “ Riki, I'm going to break up with Unmyeong.” Jungwon said into Riki’s chest. “ No, I know you also like her because if you didn’t you wouldn’t have asked her. I confessed at the wrong time, I don't want to hurt her because I have feelings for you” Jungwon looked up at Riki and opened his mouth to speak but Riki beat him to it “ Jungwon I love you with my whole heart but you are a taken man and I won’t be the reason you break a girls heart. You asked her to be your girlfriend so be responsible and make her happy.” Riki kissed Jungwon’s forehead and got up. 

As Riki was packing Jungwon sat on his bed watching his every move. Riki’s words replayed over, over, and over again. Once Riki finally finished packing Riki turned to him and asked “ Accompany me to the airport?” while extending his hand to him. Jungwon took a hold of his hand and said “do you really have to go?” 

“ If I don’t then that would be a waste of money but we can still talk over call” Jungwon gave a small laugh and put on his shoes. The way to the airport was filled with silence , they enjoyed the silence and each other's company. As they got closer to the airport Jungwon couldn’t help but still be upset. He couldn't do anything to stop Riki from leaving. He knew when Riki set his mind on something he wont stop till he does it but he had hope he would convince him to stay. 

They hadn’t let go of each other's hands since they got out of the car. Entering the airport was painful for both boys. Even though he said all that to Jungwon , Riki wanted to turn around and be happy with him but he knew that wouldn’t be right. No matter how much he wanted to have a happy ending with his first love , Riki wouldn't be able to live with the fact that he hurt someone in order to be happy.

They both sat waiting for Riki’s plane to be called and once it was called it was hard to let go. “ Jungwon please make her happy” Riki kissed his best friend’s forehead one last time and then boarded the plane without looking back. Jungwon just stood there with tears rolling down his face.

i am sorry i have not uploaded anything i had injured myslef and was in a lot of pain , the hospital i went to werent much help which made me every upset.
