Roman stood in his private room in the basement. The room was soundproof. It was his parent's room. Where they took him when he was having a panic attack. Now he took himself there. He sat in the middle of the room with the lights off. He shut his eyes and he rocked back and forth humming.

Worthless

Stupid

Useless

Don't you have anything to say about yourself? You're just pathetic.

He clenched his eyes continuing his rocking while covering his ears. He wanted to tell them to shut up. That it wasn't true. But it was. He hid behind the big scary mafia lord facade. No one would ever see how truly scared he was. Not his enemies at least and not his men. So long as he had that mask.

Your mother didn't love you.

Your father beat you for fun.

You killed your brother because you got possessive.

You are nothing.

He let out a strangled cry hitting the side of his head. He didn't kill his brother. His brother's death was an accident. His mother swore she loved him and his father was making him stronger. That's what he wanted to believe.

He killed himself because of you. You were overbearing.

"No..." He whimpered out opening his eyes foolishly seeing nothing but darkness. It only made it worse.

Narassasitic freak of nature. The scars prove it.

"No!" He cried out standing up. He needed to get out. He wanted to get out. He stumbled around blindly trying to find the light switch. The way the room was built made it nearly impossible. It was too wide and things were scattered throughout it. His parents made sure he couldn't escape it.

If you just left him alone. Let him be himself. Instead of family this family that. He wanted to leave.

"H-He was going to leave me! He was-" He tripped over a chair slamming into the ground groaning. "He was going to leave me alone!" He screamed reaching for something to grab. Instead something grabbed back.

He let out a strangled cry as his father threw him into something hard. He hit the ground going into panic mode. He thought he disabled the robots they made. They made them to condition him while they were out of town. That's what was talking not the voices. No, the voices only amplified it.

"N-No no no- no." He panted out looking around trying to see through the darkness to the door. He couldn't see anything.

You need a punishment boy. Why else are you in this room?

He opened and shut his mouth a few times trying to find the right response but why was he in this room. A trauma response? He had a fit in public. He needed punishment. So he came here.

"I-I'm sorry dad!" He cried walking around trying to feel for the wall or anything.

Sorry doesn't mean anything boy.

"Roman!" Jasper called from outside the door. He had a hunch that this is where he ran off too.

Roman's eyes widened as he ran towards the sound of Jasper's voice. He swung open the door seeing Jasper standing there with a stern but worried gaze.
