Ezra sat in his wheelchair squinting at the eye chart the optometrist had him looking at. This was his first check-up after leaving the hospital. He had to wear shades when leaving the house because they were extremely sensitive to light. Not that he even left the manor.
"Can you read the first two lines for me?" The doctor asked after a few moments.
Ezra nodded carefully rubbing his eyes before looking at the chart. He read off the first line perfectly till he got to the second line. He let out a frustrated growl squeezing the arm of his wheelchair.
"It's only been six weeks since your eyes were unwrapped. You are doing good as expected. I'll see you in two months." The doctor said turning on the light after letting Ezra put his shades back on.
Ezra wheeled himself out of the office seeing Roman sitting in the waiting room leaning his head back against the wall. He still wore his mask when he left the manor. A few of his men were outside standing guard. The office was empty except for a few teens and the receptionist.
Ezra smiled at Roman's sleeping figure wheeling himself over to the chair. He tapped his boyfriend's knee causing the taller man to jolt awake looking around before he lets out a relieved breath seeing Ezra.
"How was it...sir?" Roman spoke the last part shyly as he looked around making sure no one heard. The past few days he's been feeling more submissive as he got into the role of helping Ezra with things.
"It was okay. She said I was doing good as expected." Ezra told him what the doctor said rubbing Roman's knee as he noticed him looking nervous.
"So you are..getting better?" He asked for more clarification. He was more worried about Ezra now that they had left the hospital. Ezra however was getting better slowly but surely.
Ezra nodded to his question taking Roman's left hand. He kissed his hand before putting it down. He smiled as Roman looked away. A sign he does when he was blushing or flustered.
"Are you ready to go to physical therapy? It's in another section of this building." Roman stated standing up and running a hand through his hair. He looked at his watch seeing that the time was close to dinner. After this he was surprising Ezra with a date to olive garden.
"Yes. I want to start walking again. I hate how I have full function of my upper half. Yet my lower half is..too painful to move. The pain is less though. That's what they were waiting for." Ezra responded as Roman stood behind him pushing his wheelchair down a long hall.
Ezra leaned his head back looking up at Roman who looked excited. He tilted his head before letting it go. Perhaps he's excited about the fact that Ezra was doing good. Roman was excited about the fact he was taking Ezra on their first offical date. He had reservations at the olive garden closet to them.
"Here we are. Would you like me to come in?"
"No I'm okay. Just wait out here." Ezra said wheeling himself into the gym. In the gym stood a woman wearing grey joggers with a purple hoodie. Roman requested all his doctors to be female because Ezra still wasn't okay to be around other men.
"Ah hello! You must be Ezra. My name is Jamie, nice to meet you." Jamie said holding out her hand to Ezra who shook it.
"Nice to meet you as well."
"Alright so today I will be helping you stand." Jamie talked like someone who was happy to do their job. Ezra noticed and smiled softly as he nodded. He liked people who were happy to do their job. It just meant he would be getting better care.
She brought him to an area which had a walkway strip with two metal rails beside it for someone to hold while they walked. He looked at it before looking at Jamie who stood in front of him.
