My dad is starring at me so intensly that I feel that if I were to move a muscle he would burst into a fit of rage or retreat into a state of complete depression. "Ok dad" I say my voise sounds shakey and raspy all of a sudden. "What I'm about to tell you isn't to be taken lightly nor should it be taken as a joke do you understand?" His voise is calm and stern as ever. "Yes I understand." I try to say as confidently as I can.
"The information that I'm about to tell you is classified and you may not share it with anybody not your teachers not your teammates no one do I make myself clear?" He says.
I nod in confirmation. "Good. You already know that after you are assigned to a team you will begin training together to learn how to attack in unison and to use each other to your advantage in the battle field, you will also gain more knowledge on how to use your abilities, if you think you know everything about your powers than think again cause you will push the boundaries of the natural world and all it will take is a simple thought, but you already know all of this. The information that you don't know is that they are going to start throwing you kids into missions from the get go. They are going to try to put it off as a knew type of intense traing but the truth is they are losing operatives left and right so they need someone to start filling in the gaps and that will be you guys, all of you they will put the stronger teams on the more complex and dangerous missions and I already know that ur team is going to be one of the if not the strongest." He says this so calmly and I'm confused on how he can be, knowing information like this."So what do I do dad." I ask expectantly. "There's nothing you can do except be smart and aware. If the government wants to send you on a mission there is nothing anyone can do about it." He says. "Just promise me one thing." He says, this time his voise is full of emotion which is weird cause my dad is a very serious person. "Ok" I say my voice is shakey again.
"If you see that things aren't going your way during a mission you take your team and get out of there and if your not the team leader and he or she refuses to retreat then you leave anyway even if it means leaving your team behind." He says and I can tell by his face that he expects me to agree to this...... this act of betrayal not only to my team but to all that my family has been fighting for, for three generations " I'm sorry but I can't do that." I say while I stand to walk away, but just as I head for the door of his office he grabs me by the wrist. "Just think about it ok." He says with a soft yet heavy voice. "Ok" I say then I run to my room upstairs and close the door and I immediately fall to my knees face in my hands, as if I didn't have enough to think about.I crall into bed, I just stripped to my boxers cause I don't have the energy to change into my pj's, but no matter how tired I am I know I'll be getting little to no sleep tonight.
