Author's Note

The dysfunctional family dynamic between Norma and Norman and Dylan will always be at the heart of the show, but I'd argue that Norman's teenage romances are equally compelling because they signify a normalcy that's infuriatingly just out of reach.

And 'cisgender, allosexual female' is a perspective that sits nicely in my Goldilocks zone of not too personally relatable, yet not too far off from how I identify, to be interesting enough to write, so voila.

Also, Norman just needs a good hug <s>and lots of therapy, but this is canon compliant angst so it's not happening here.</s> 🥺💔
