Relationship

"Good morning babe, going to school?"

I got startled as a loud voice came out of nowhere when I got out of our house. TJ wearing his uniform, white long sleeve shirt with a black tie, slacks and black shoes is leaning on the wall of our gate.

"Anong ginagawa mo dito?" I answered with a question. Trying to mask my clouded sanity because he looked, oh my gosh!

He stood properly fixing his tie as he confidently stride towards me with a big smile on his face. I almost thought the sun rays followed his steps as he shone brightly walking in our street. Yup, I am being weird.

"Picking up my girlfriend, am I the best boyfriend or what?" He leaned his upper body to me so that our eyes would meet.

With his sudden gesture, I inhaled sharply to calm my nerves but failed as I sniffed his scent instead. A mix of vanilla and mint, sweet and refreshing. Weird as I don't usually like perfumes especially the strong ones as they tend to make me feel dizzy.

"Yeah, yeah" I pushed him aside to have my personal space back. This guy seems to like crossing it every damn time. He wasn't even apologizing or wasn't even aware of it. The audacity of this guy?

"Where's my greeting and endearment?" He pouted which earned a confused look from me. "I woke up early to see and greet you and this is what I get? What kind of girlfriend are you to treat your boyfriend like this?"

"What are you doing?" I looked around to see if someone is here because I am getting embarrassed with him. He is making this weird faces and acting so cutely.

"And now you're embarrassed of me?" His tone turned  so softly as his facial expression became somewhat of a cute puppy getting scolded. What did I do?

"Are you trying to make me feel guilty?"

"Is it working?" His face glowed suddenly like he achieved his goal.

"Nice try but no." Nilagpasan ko siya at naglakad patungo sa passenger seat ng sasakyan niya. Nagjog naman ito para habulin ako at pinatunog ang sasakyan niya. I immediately opened it and went inside disregarding his whining as he went to his seat.

"Wow Lamborghini, mayaman!" Asar ko pa kaya mas lalo siyang naiinis. "Sayo to?"

"Seriously Raja?"

"Uy to naman di mabiro." Lambing ko kuno at mahinang hinampas ang balikat nito. He gave me a side glance for a second then he continued driving silently.

"Galit ka?" I poked his arms but to no avail he didn't react. "Grabe ka naman, konting asar ko galit ka na agad? Nagbaliktad ata tayo ng role. Ako yung mapang-asar na boyfriend tapos ikaw naman yung may toyong girlfriend." I jokingly laughed at him as his expression turned sour.

"Di mo talaga ako papansinin?" Hamon ko sa kanya. I need to try that thing I saw online. "Stop the car." I commanded and he looked at me confused. "I said stop the car."

He slowed down and stopped near the sidewalk. He then faced me with a nervous expression and held my shoulder. Hah, I got you TJ! I just looked down and stared at my hands trying not to laugh and ruin my acting job.

"I'm sorry, I just want you to greet me good morning and call me babe or even appreciate my effort just now." Mahabang explain nito pero di ko pa ring siya kinibo at nakatungo lang. I can almost taste my success.

"Babe, come on." Pfft, so nervous. I have you on the palm of my hand. Pilit niyang iniangat ang mukha ko pero iniwas ko lang kaya naman hinawakan niya ng parehong kamay ang buong mukha ko para maiharap sa kanya.

"When did the tables turned? I should be the one getting apologies." He mumbled which almost made me chuckle. He looked so confused but worried at the same time.

When I met his eyes, my laughed just burst out open. Naguguluhan namang nakatingin pa rin siya sa akin. Oh this guy!

"You should have seen your face!" I said between my laughs. I calmed myself before continuing. "Nakita ko lang sa online yun. Wait." I opened my phone and went to the video to play it for him.

The girl is explaining how he liked to have an argument with his boyfriend inside his car and she will say stop the car just like in dramas and movies. So dramatic and so funny but make sense too. You can't do that with public transportation because it would be embarrassing.

"What the..." tinakpan ko and bibig niya.

"No cussing right? So what do you think? Am I a good actress?" He smiled as he pinched my cheeks.

"What am I gonna do with you?" I shrugged as he started the car's engine again.

Pagkababa ko sa kotse niya, narinig ko kaagad ang mga tsismis nila. Bigla akong kinabahan. Ayaw ko na pinag-uusapan lalo't sanay akong di napapansin ng mga tao. Mas nag-ingay ang mga tao nang sinabayan ako ni Toby sa paglalakad.

Maraming nagtaka at nagtatanong kung ano ako sa buhay nitong lalaking katabi ko. Girlfriend ba or kaibigan lang? Baka naman kamag-anak, pinsan o kapatid sa labas? Nag-iisang anak daw kasi si Toby kaya ganun.

Para akong nalalagutan ng hininga at naglalakad na kriminal patungo sa lugar kung saan may garoteng naghihintay sa akin. Pero tong katabi ko parang walang pakealam kaya naman dahan-dahan akong naglakad ng mabagal para makalayo kay Toby. Okay na sana eh kasi di niya ako napansin pero ilang sandali pa bigla itong luminga sa tabi at nang di niya ako nakita bigla niya akong hinanap.

"What are you doing? Let's go you'll be late in your class." He grabbed my hand and intertwined it with his as he almost dragged me to my room. Mukhang nakuha ata ng lahat kung anong relasyon namin dahil biglang natahimik ang lahat.

"Di daw boyfriend pero hinatid naman." Pagkaupong-upo ko palang ay may nagsalita na. Si Andrea, isa sa classmates ko na nanduon din noong hinintay ako ni Toby.

"Take note, HHWWMPSSP!" hirit nung beking si Charles or Charlotte sa gabi. My eyebrows knotted with what she just said. Ano yun? "Holding hands while walking, may pasway-sway pa!"

Everyone laughed while I just sighed deeply. I almost choked when they all smirked at me meaningly. Gosh, I hate this!

"He is no one, you guys can go." Pangagaya nung isa pa na sinabi ko noon. Muli silang natawa at tinuro ako. "Denial queen ka!"

"So ano na?" "Kayo na?" "Dating or what?" "Si Rayla dalaga na!" "Boyfriend mo yun noh?" "Kaya ayaw niya ipakilala nung isang araw kasi possessive siya!"

Sabay sabay na tanong at kantyaw nila. I covered my ears with my hands but they kept on blabbing and almost shouting at me. Umagang-umaga pero stressed na agad ako. Pinalibutan nika ako habang ang lalakas magsalita at yung iba mahina akong pinapalo sa braso o di kaya tinutulak sa shoulders ko.

I can feel my patience running out and before I blow up, I abruptly stood up which made them stop. Finally, peace and silence.

"He's my boyfriend okay? We're in a relationship!" I blurted out loudly. I can feel my cheeks burning up with embarrassment.

Shocked faces surrounded me. I sat down again hoping they would all be quiet but no, they all just cheered and continued teasing me until our professor came. Gosh, how I hate this day.
