It's been a day since I visited the crime scene, and I had researched a bit about this village. This village is apparently famous for its werewolf and witch mythos. Apparently in the 16th century at the time of the werewolf epidemic where tens and thousands of people were hanged because they are thought to be werewolves or witches, this general area was a place of refugee by a lot of werewolves and witches in the Kingdom of France. This general area was what it was because it was used as a place to escape through the Mediterranean Sea, and in general, the people here weren't as superstitious as the ones deeper on the mainland, because a lot of them were and still are seafaring folks and merchants with more access to better information in general. I inferred that there were probably a lot of wolves here or at least there are more big wild animals like bears, that common folk might think of as wolves because obviously, those scratch marks are way too big for a normal wolf.

In any case, other than the mythos that existed in this village, I had already read a lot of the files Ethan sent to me. Even though the autopsy was not finished yet, I was pretty certain that the killing blow happened after Madame Blanchatte is attacked by a bear. Sadly, there was a report of heavy rain hours after the body was found, thus finding the footprint of this bear proved to be impossible, but I was pretty sure the autopsy will make clear of that. Now I just needed the name of a suspect, someone that might have access to Blanchatte's house and had a motive to ultimately kill her after she suffered a bear attack. For that, I need to find out that girl and interviewed her, I doubt that she killed her, but I wouldn't hold back if that young girl had been the killer all along.

Now, I need to speak to two of my witnesses, a milkman named Gabriel Monet, and a tailor named Julia Blanchette. It seemed one of our witnesses was a relative to the late Madame Blanchette. In any case, I need to know what the milkman saw when he first encountered the victim's body. Then I can visit the tailor's house to hear what she had to say.

In just 25 minutes, my interview with Gabriel Monet had been done. He was a stern gentleman, always to the point, with no anecdote, and no small talks. Honestly, I didn't like it, small talks were the point where one that is interviewed forgot to cover up their lies if they had one. At the very least, talking with Monet made me pretty sure that this man is just as the saying goes "At the wrong place at the wrong time."

The tailor, on the other hand, is quite different, we had some chat and small talk. She looked like a nice lady.

"So, mam, what is it that you have to say?" asked me.

"Ahh yes, so, Mister Detective, I was at my mother house 5 days ago, bringing her new clothes with my trusty basket, at the time I knocked and knocked and she didn't respond at all, so I put her clothes down and left to home. But foolish of me to forgot to bring her prepared meals, so I went back around an hour after I got there, probably around 8 pm or so. Now this is what is strange about that house, the clothes and the basket were missing, but she still didn't respond when I knocked at her house," explained Miss Julia.

"Pray tell Miss Julia, was the clothes you brought is a night gown?" asked me intrigued by Miss Julia's explanation.

"Actually yes, how do you know it was a night gown detective?" asked Miss Julia Curiously.

"The victim was wearing a night gown after her death." Explained me.

"What? How? you meant she died while wearing that gown?" asked Miss Julia shocked.

"Yes unfortunately, this meant that she was killed around when you brought her gown," explained me.

"Unbelievable, it was so close, the killer may still be inside that house." Said Miss Julia.

"And another question Miss Julia, did you see her garden at the time you brought her gown? was it messed up?" asked me again.

"No and yes," answered Miss Julia.
