“You killed her, didn’t you?” I ask, tears brim my eyes, my lips quiver as if a sea under harsh winds, my hair blows behind me as the winds pick up and the darkness draws in.
The shadowy figure emerges from the camouflage of the trees, their disturbed eyes gleam under the moonlight. Their lips turn into a wry smile, as they place one foot and then another onto the dishevelled gravel, my body quakes with trepidation.
My teeth chatter as the cold consumes me. As they take another step the vaguely familiar shadow becomes my worst nightmare, my jaw hits the ground dragging with it my sanity and faith in the human race. The wolves howl and the birds chirp as they bask in the dismay of my discovery.
“Just as I have to kill you”
