Jess had always been the one that was always on her own. The last child, the only daughter, and three other brothers that were all older than her. There wasn't much stability in her life, who she was friends with, what she loved to do, who she loved. Moving to a new city was supposed to be something that fixed this issue. Only one of those things changed, who she was friends with. She had met Drew around a month after she moved, meeting him at a bar in WeHo. The two had found out that they had quite a lot in common —favorite music artists and sports team being two of the main— and they quickly became friends. They became inseparable, constantly hanging out and doing almost everything they could possibly do together.

Waking up one morning and seeing Drew conversing with her brother and his friends wasn't the ideal situation for Jess, she knew that her brother was always one to jump to conclusions and there was no doubt that he would in this situation, as Luke and Drew had never met. From the corner of her eye, Jess could see Calum standing in the corner of the kitchen staring at Drew. She wondered what his issue was but before she could think about it any further Luke started to speak, snapping her out of her daze.
"Jess, we want you to go on tour with us and be our photographer,"which was said with what could've been a tone of sarcasm.

"Really? Or are you doing this solely based on the fact that I'm your sister Luke?" Jess questioned back harshly due to the fact that growing up everyone around her was always doubting her abilities. She hated the fact that her best friend was here to witness this as to the others it was fairly normal to see the two siblings fighting. She hated luke and his friends —the same ones that use to think she'd never make it but believed that they'd go somewhere with their's—the fact they contributed to a lot of her self-doubt says alot. She used to think of them too as people she could just, that it was that way up until everything came crumbling down.

"Can I not give you an opportunity whether you're my sister or not? I want you on the tour with us. Stop acting like this is a fucking charity case," spewed Luke. The others in the room were just sitting in silence not wanting to intervene.

Moving her hands as she spoke Jess said, "You've spent years hating what I do of course I'm going to think you're treating me like I'm a charity case. You don't see me sitting around with my friends talking about how shitty your work is do you? No! Because I don't." Now visibly hurt over the matter, Jess has told Luke numerous times that they way he talks so lowly of her work hurts her. "I'm not going to continue this with you, I'll go on tour as long as you and your band of friends get out of here."

"Fine. If that's how you want it then so be it," Luke replied somewhat passive aggressively, "you heard her, it's time to go," eyeing at his friends. Jess saw everyone hop-off where they were sitting and walk out of Jess' front door.

Drew just kind of stood there stunned about what had just happened since this was the first time that he's met Luke despite being a friend of Jess's for nearly two years. Jess could see his confusion and from her position of standing by the door watching it shut and locking it, she walked over to him, "hi," she said glumly still processing her thoughts from what happened moments before.

"Hi," Drew said while wrapping his arms around Jess as she stumbled even closer than she was before to him.

"I was hoping your first time meeting my brother didn't go like that. Sorry for making you witness that entire thing."

"It's fine Jess, you've told me multiple times that he's sort of a dick, so I wasn't expecting much."
"Yeah I know, but I still feel bad"

"Trust me it's fine, so you're going with them on tour?" Drew responded quizzically as he pushed the two of them back onto the couch that was sitting right behind them.

"Yeah, I guess so. I mean it'll be hard but I think I'll get through it. It's not like I haven't been putting up with all five of them for years on end." Drew laughed at the sarcasm that was dripping from Jess' voice.

"Okay," he replied silently as they lay together.
For the next few hours, Jess and Drew just stayed in pretty much the same position, not wanting to get up to do anything. It wasn't until a couple of Drew's friends that Jess didn't particularly know asked Drew if he wanted to go out, leaving the pair hanging out having to separate.
••••••
Tour was nearing and Jess was not prepared at all. She was constantly freaked out over it, scared of what was going to happen spending all of this time with the boys and it wasn't like she could just back out as she had signed a contract about two weeks earlier. Jess was lost. It seemed like she couldn't figure anything out. Being told that the boys wanted to shoot a tour documentary also wasn't something she enjoyed because it meant more time with the strain on her relationship with Luke, but who knows maybe it'll work out. Spending nights cooped up in her apartment not having the time to do much but prep, tour crept up, and before she knew it Jess was saying goodbye to Drew —telling him that he should come out to the New York show— and getting on the tour bus with some of the people she disliked the most.
