Chapter Twenty Three

~Lincoln Pov~

I woke up to the whirrs of the machines and sighed as I was in the hospital again...No this was different. I slowly opened my eyes and looked around it was the Is academy infirmary that was odd I thought Id be at the vending machine or the hospital I groaned as I moved my neck to the left to look around.

Lincoln:"Good morning Chifuyu..."

Chifuyu:"If you werent in critical condition Id be slapping the hell out of you currently."

Lincoln:"Why?"

Chifuyu:"You got buried under rubble you know how long that took out of our time and besides how did you know that?"

Lincoln:"Ichika fell through the ground then I met a girl who wanted his unit but she really didnt do anything I tied her up with cords and set her flying using my arms."

Chifuyu:"Why did you let her escape?"

Lincoln:"Because she works for the phantom task and if we captured her who knows how many would swarm here we already know they can get in the place."

Chifuyu:"But who set the C4?"

Lincoln:"I have no clue some guy he saw me while I didnt have my arms and basically threatened the girls challenging me to save them."

Chifuyu:"why you?"

Tech:"I can answer that."

Chifuyu quickly turned around and looked at Tech ready to punch he laughed and held up his hand walking forward.

Tech:"Because the government wants him dead."

Chifuyu:"Why do the government want him dead."

Tech:"Because he cannot die so any government who has him will basically rule the world and in their eyes that is too dangerous so they have to get rid of him at all costs."

Chifuyu:"...So your saying because he is unkillable they want him dead."

Tech:"Yeah and thats not it they made him that way for one reason to reset back to a set point when you first met him when laura was that black mech thing thats when it reset too why then I have no clue but for some reason it does."

Chifuyu:"Huh so currently your a powerful asset."

Tech:"Yeah and with his connections to me...and having access to ever countries internal documents even their launch codes...So instead of attacking him their gonna basically take the girls as hostages because he treats every damn girl in this school like a princess and hes their damn knight."

Chifuyu:"That is stupid."

Tech:"And thats what I said."

Lincoln:"Ok this doesnt seem like your trying to help it just seems like your dissing me for being nice."

I slowly stopped and just laid on the bed as Chifuyu left and Tech stood there looking down at me.

Lincoln:"What are you still doing here Tech?"

Tech:"Well your in bed trapped."

He smiled as he opened his bag and I stared at him as he dumped out stuff from a party store.

Lincoln:"Tech No."

Tech:"Tech Yes."

He grabbed a balloon and began blowing it up I slowly got up and he stared at me expectantly.

Tech:"Dont you dare run."

I quickly got up and jumped off Tech got up but slipped on a bag of balloons as I ran out of the room I ran down the hall and held out my arms they caught flame and sent me flying as I went off.

Tech:"GET BACK HERE LINCOLN!"

I flew through the halls as fast as I could go and watched Tech slowly be left behind I laughed and then pulled my arms to my sides tightly as I flew through a door I quickly put my arms out and stopped myself there.

I walked into the cafeteria and saw the girls surrounding Ichika I shrugged it off and walked past waving slightly.

Ichika:"Oh hey Lincoln want to join us?"

Lincoln:"Im good."

Houki:"You sure it is Ichika's birthday."

Lincoln:"Sorry still gonna decline the offer."

Tech:"LINCOLN YOU ARE NOT ESCAPING ANOTHER YEAR IN A ROW!"

Lincoln:"Welp I gotta go have a good day everyone."

I side stepped Tech who tried to tackle me he flew onto the ground.

Chifuyu:"Whats going on?"

Tech:"THIS BASTARD GOES GHOST WHEN HIS BIRTHDAY COMES AROUND HE HAS MISSED EVERY SINGLE BIRTHDAY IN HIS WHOLE DAMN LIFE!"

Lincoln:"Actually most holiday occasions."

Tech got red in the face and ran at me I put my hands forward and blasted myself backwards and flew through a door and down the hall quickly making progress soon I made it to the dorms and landed running through the winding halls and up the stairs until I made it to mine I opened it and locked it behind me I blocked it with a chair and walked to the other side of the room pulling the curtains locking the window I then laid under the bed.

I got a call and pulled my phone up to my ear I answered it.

Lincoln:"Hello?"

Kanzashi:"Hi uh were still on for two days for the marathon right?"

Lincoln:"Yeah of course we are!"

I went to sit up but smashed my head against the underside of my bed with a thud I groaned and I heard her gasp.

Kanzashi:"Are you ok I heard someone bang?"

Lincoln:"Yeah yeah Im fine."

Kanzashi:"Oh um next time can you lose the mask and Yukata I wanna see you for who you really are."

I felt my heart melt as I agreed and hung up holding the phone on my chest smiling at the underside of my bed happily.

I sighed and soon closed my eyes drifting to sleep...
