As soon as the army of demigods, story characters and normal humans stepped into the land of stories, their noses were assaulted with the smell of smoke. Conner could see Alex clenching he fists in anger.
Conner felt the same way, but he was less expressive than her. He was started out of his thoughts when a bunch of girls dressed in silver started whispering to each other. ANd eventually to Annabeth who whispered to Percy.
"Lets go!" said Percy "The hunters know where Nico, and Will are!" The demigods cheered. Conner thought about it for a second then remembered that it was those two kids with the council of faries.
They all followed this one girl with a circlet in her spiky hair down a path around a lake and over a mountain and soon they started to signs of life.
As soon as Percy saw that dark haired boy-Nico Conner guessed. He rushed over and hugged him.
The dark haired boy who Conner assumed to be Nico stiffened for a second before hugging Percy back.
At that moment Conner was sure that he saw tears coming out of both Nico and Percy's eyes, though they would both deny it afterwards.
"Percy!" came a shout from behind them "A gold haired boy" popped out of the trees to give Percy a fist bump. Not acting as if they had been stuck in an alternate dimension.
The Bailey twins walked behind the grove of trees and saw a cave with all her friends. Alex saw Author and ran over and hugged him, pecking his cheek. Arthur blushed crazily. Conner turned his eyes away and spotted mother goose.
He hugged mother goose as he hadn't seen the woman in many months.
The group of demigods and storybook characters stuck around for a few hours with the LoS natives.
Then Percy stepped onto a flat rock. "Here here! We are all united and we are strong. We have all of the demigods!" cue the cheering "The Land Of Stories Residents!" Cue more cheering "AND THE STORY BOOK CHARACTERS!" Cue more cheering "We'll be able to beat those stupid villans in no time!!!"
Everyone in the cave cheered the sound almost deafening. Conner laughed and quietly to himself he thought that this was the best he had felt in a while.
"Hey Alex" Conner said as he saw Alex walking to where he was sitting in the shade of the tree.
"Hey Conner'' Alex smiled "I think we have an amZHANG chance to beat the villains!" Conner said
"Who taught you that pun?" Alex jokingly yelled
"Leo" Conner smiling replied
The twins laughed together their worries melting away into the evening dusk air.
