When he first ventured downstairs early in the morning, just a day later, Katsuki was met with an ecstatic Aizawa and Yamada crowded around the kitchen table, not making breakfast as usual. It wasn't an unusual sight to see the pair giddy and smiling for no apparent reason. However, no matter what, they were always solemn in the mornings. The only person in the house that could even tolerate times before noon was Yamada, and he clearly knew from past experience to keep quiet when everybody else had only just risen from the depths of sleep. Today though, even Aizawa was beaming ear to ear, grinning down at a pack of paper that was clutched in his husbands' hands.

"Why good morning, son." Sang Present Mic, waggling his eyebrows as Katsuki stepped further into the kitchen, confusion etched across his still tired features.

Smacking his husbands shoulder, Aizawa snatched the pack of paper and handed it to Katsuki, nodding as if urging him to read the very official looking document. Bakugo's hands shook as his eyes scanned the top of the paper, immediately stopping and focusing on the big bold header.

PROVISIONAL CUSTODY RIGHTS

Excited silence encased the room, only being broken by the whistles Hizashi and Bakugo triggered out of each other. Katsuki looked up at the two men, shoulder's flying up to meet his ears before dropping again. There was no way this could be correct. He hadn't been to any court hearings, it had only been a few weeks since he had left his home. Yet here he was, standing in the homeliest kitchen he had ever encountered, custody papers with his name at the top in his own two hands.

"What does this mean? Is it-?" He asked quietly, trailing off as his head flew backwards, not even caring as he cricked his neck in the process. What would this mean for him going forward?

"Well, it means we're not currently kidnapping you."  Aizawa's face split into an even wider grin as he mentioned this, clearly proud of his 'kidnapping' abilities.

"Always a bonus, right Shouta?" Yamada nudged Aizawa in the ribs, apparently quite hard given the fact the poor man stumbled sideways, barely missing the counter corner.

"In all seriousness, it basically means we can be your legal guardians until the adoption fully goes through." Aizawa tried to continue, pulling himself back to standing, graciously only glaring back at his giggling husband.

"How did you get it so fucking quick?" Katsuki blurted, leaning across the counter to stare at the two men.

"Provisional custody is pretty easy to get through the court, since it's temporary." Yamada drew air quotes around temporary, scowling, probably at the idea of having to ever see Bakugo leave their care. "Although being two pro heroes teaching at UA definitely sped some things along. And~" Hizashi dragged on the syllable until Shouta smacked him. "We've been working alongside the same cops that helped us with Hitoshi so they already have the proof that we're not like goldfish killers or something."

"What-"

"Don't listen to him, Katsuki. You'll learn to just breeze past comments like that." Aizawa butted in, still looking just as concerned at his husbands' choice of words as Katsuki felt. "Anyway, this little document means we can take you to the doctors without your parents permission."

Katsuki's head tilted to the side, cogs rapidly turning in his mind. "Please say this means we can go get some shitty professional to tell me I have what we all already know I do."

"Essentially yes. Dunderhead over there-"

"Oi!"

"-got excited and booked an appointment for a couple days time already. But if you don't feel ready to go we can easily reschedule." Aizawa finished, finally turning towards the fridge to grab some food for breakfast, obviously trying to make the hidden question seem casual.
