chisato

how do i describe kanon..? more importantly our friendship. everytime she makes me tea or sings a happy tune... my heart beats rapidly as i wonder if it will explode. "fleeting", kaoru would call it. i call it exhausting. confusing. comforting. blue flowers blow back and forth through the breeze as i sit at a picnic table, waiting for her to arrive. the flowers are a pale, deep blue...like her hair. god, what's wrong with me? she...wouldn't like me like that. her eyes are most likely set on someone else...kaoru seta. the three of us have a...confusing friendship. kaoru teases kanon, calling her "kitten" and "her princess"...but she does that with everyone. stupid kaoru. however, all hope is not lost. kanon and i have a much more meaningful relationship. friendship. i meant friendship. stupid chisato. "chisato! hi!", a beautiful, soft voice calls my name as i turn my head to see kanon running towards me. she smiles, wearing a beautiful, light purple dress with embroidered flowers, tangled and mixed with the stitches of pink hearts. "i'm so excited we got to hang out together! it's been a while!", she speaks enthusiastically. "it's been three days, silly...", i reply, hoping the softness of my tone isn't obvious. soft enough to seem romantic, but words that would easily make her feel bad as i rethink my choice of words. "o-oh, my apologies, kanon- that was rude of me..." kanon immediately puts her hand on my forehead, noses nearly touching as my stomach does a flip, hands twitching. her hands are..soft, warm...safe. like her. "are you okay, chisato? you seem nervous..." i let out a light sniffle as i readjust, her hand falling from my face. "y-yeah...i'm alright. how was practice? i heard kokoro and misaki finally got together!" she immediately brightened, smiling before starting her ramble. "yeah, they did! misaki was the one to confess, which i honestly wouldn't expect from her, but the feeling was mutual! i'm really happy for them...kokoro plans to surprise her by going to the theater for valentine's day." i...smile. not just because of them...but because i can already think of someone i'd like to hold while watching a movie. "that's great, kanon. i'm really glad it's going well." kanon grabs a few pieces of paper from her bag, setting them down on the table. "would you like to paint together?", she asks shyly. i let out a breathy laugh. "i'd be honored to see your artwork...kanon."
