pareo...may i have a word?" chu2's voice quietly spoke from the other side of the hill, just enough for kanon and i to hear. "shhhh!!", kanon spoke, bringing her warm hand to my lips. gosh darn it, kanon—! we looked over the hillside, seeing chu2 standing in front of pareo, who was doing a butterfly pattern eyeliner. "chu2! hello! what may i assist you with?" chu2 slowly lifted off her headphones, looking down at her shoes. what is she...? "can you do my hair...? i'm not really good at it." pareos eyes lit up, causing both kanon and i to giggle from our bench. chu2 and pareo immediately looked at us, a blush being painted on their once pale faces. a similar color was plastered onto mine from being caught. "y-you idiots! wh-what the hell are yo-you doing here!?", chu2 exclaimed, fidgeting with the blue and pink brackets on her arms. "we were doing the same thing as you, actually...catching up.", i responded teasingly. "would you two like to join us?", pareo questioned, bringing her hand to chu2s as i silently laughed at the pink increasing on her face. "no, that's okay... you guys have your bonding", kanon teased, and i couldn't help but get a bit of butterflies from her tone as well. we turned back to our papers, grabbing a few paintbrushes and bottles of water. kanon got straight to work, beautiful painted nails grabbing at a brush and dabbing it lightly in the pink watercolor. i stared at her beautiful eyes, and the way they traced the paper with such care and intention. before i knew it, i had already drawn a light sketch of her, flowers and hearts surrounding it. 30 minutes had to have passed by. suddenly, before i could stop it, her eyes glanced at my paper, a breath coming from those pink lips of hers. chu2 and pareo must have wandered off, because when i looked to find them, they were gone. "chisato...i didn't know that you..." i couldn't tell whether it was anger directed towards myself, or embarrassment, but i suddenly felt a red flush covering my face, and kanons hand on mine.in that moment...i didn't care anymore. we were alone. together. comforted. and no one else to intervene as i mumbled my words, "i like you, kanon."
