Bad decision

As I'm gliding in the ice, I hear a loud thump. Zoe had fallen over. Oh no. I glide toward her direction and help her up. I place her hand on me and take her out of the rink. I help her get seated in a seat. "Are you okay?" I ask Zoe anxiously. "Yeah I'm fine". My eyes get caught on something on her hand. She scraped her hand badly. "Zoe you injured yourself so badly" I say while probing her hand. "Come one I'll help you to the first aid area. We both get up and walk towards the area where they keep all the first aid equipment. I get her seated there and take off my skates and leave the ice rink.

One month later...
It's been a month since everything happened at ice skating and stuff. Zoe and I have left everything behind us and in fact I'm actually helping Zoe with Tanner. Tanner and I have been talking everyday and we've actually become quite close. It's currently June and Zoe has liked Tanner for 2 months now, she's decided to tell Tanner how she feels. "When do you think I should talk to Tanner and how?" She asks immediately after we get seated for lunch. "Whenever you feel like it's the right time". I currently don't like Tanner anymore as I want him to give Zoe a chance and I just want to stay friends with him. Tanners actually quite nice and intelligent. He often helps me with homework which I appreciate. I've gotten to know him better now in this last month and I think he's perfect for Zoe. Luckily after lunch Zoe and I have music together, so we can continue our conversation about Tanner during music. We've even made a nickname for Tanner 'sea salt' so he doesn't know who we're exactly talking about. The bell rings and the hallway is busy as usually. Sometimes it even takes 20 minutes to get to class, the teachers understand as they're in the line too. "Hey look it's sea salt" Zoe says, pointing towards his direction. "Yeah ahahaha" "I feel confident to tell him" Zoe says "it's best to just get it over and done with today". I agree with Zoe and finally make it into class. As we're walking into class, someone behind us falls on Zoe. It was Tanner. "Oh uh..I..m sorry" Tanner stammers. "It's fine, glad you didn't fall" Zoe replies "haha yeah, thanks for saving me" "your welcome" zoe says and we get seated in our seats. "Oh my gosh I saved sea salt" zoe says in shock. "Yeah good job" I reply. To be honest, I almost laughed out loud when Tanner fell, he never sees where he's going and he's really clumsy. He's a lot like me, now that I've gotten to know him more.

"I've decided I'm going to tell him after school, via text, since it's a Friday and he'll forget about it over the weekend" states Zoe. "I believe that's a good idea, I'm always here to support you" I reply back

Zoe gives me a thank you gesture and then pays attention to the class.

As soon as the class ends, Zoe comes up to me and says "wish me good luck" I hug her and wave her goodbye.

Approximately 20 minutes later, Zoe sends me a screenshot of her and tanners conversation. It says

Zoe: hey Tanner, hope you're doing well. I just wanted to tell you that I like you and decided to tell you today so that I could express my feelings

Tanner: hey Zoe, thanks for telling me. I currently like someone else. These things take a lot of courage to say so thank you for telling me:) you're a cool person so it's best if we stay friends.

I feel so bad for Zoe and my heart gets crushed with the words 'I currently like someone else' even though I don't have any feelings for him.

I message Zoe back as soon as I've read through her conversation saying "aww I'm so sorry Zoe, he's a dick for not liking you, he's missing out on a lot". "Thanks for comforting me jes<3" she replies.

I think to myself, if Tanner rejected zoe and states he 'likes someone else', then who is that 'somone else'. No no. Could it be who I think it is? Is it.. Audrey?

I quickly go, get my phone and message him. "Hey Tanner, heard what happened with Zoe" he replies with "yeah I feel super bad" without hesitation, I send him a message saying "hey do you like Audrey?" His reply comes instantly. "Yes but I didn't tell anyone because I don't want to talk about anyone"

Shit, his heart is going to get crushed. He doesn't know Audrey that well and everyone knows she's a player. She's going to cheat on him. I have to warn him but then he'll think I like him oh no now this is bad.

I decide to wait patiently over the coming days and spectate what happens between Audrey and Tanner.

Tanners making a bad decision and he's going to regret it.
