_Third Person's Pov_

8 months Y/n Potter had been petrified.

These were the worst eight months of Draco's life and he genuinely felt dead. Just sad or empty, nothing else. Unless he was beside Y/n and knew she was safe. She was his home and he now knew just how much she had taken over his heart, mind and life. His days without her joining him in class, playing Quidditch with him, joking with him, eating with him, helping him with homework or even fighting with him... he missed it...he missed her.

Draco spent all of November trying to find a cure that would wake her up without waiting on the mandrakes. He visited and most of the time he was joined by Pansy and Blaise but he went alone sometimes, cried and held her free hand.

Draco spent all of December visiting her during breaks between classes and brought meals up to the Hospital Wing so he could be with her. He went home for one week for Christmas and returned immediately.

He spent January repeating his cycle but now he even did his homework there, Harry and his lot visited on Sunday for an hour, Wednesday for an hour and Friday for an hour and in the previous months he would argue with them but now he sat in silence and appreciated that they were visiting her. But he would not show any emotion near them, just blank.

February was the month he was able to sneak into Filch's office and get a copy of the Hospital Wing key and was able to slip in after night visiting hours stopped and slip out before morning and have enough time to change before the first lesson. His life was  Y/n, classes, lunch with Y/n, classes, dinner in the hospital ward with Y/n, and being sent out by Madam Pomfrey, sneaking in, sleep for a bit, sneak out, change and then repeat it all. He also bought roses and a card for her on Valentines Day and he spent the whole day telling promising he would confess how he felt when she decided to wake up and stop being dramatic.

March he just continued.

During April he once again repeated his cycle even though Blaise and Pansy begged him to stop because it was unhealthy how much he skipped sleeping or meals just in case she woke up. On April 1st, the Weasley twins birthday they received a present from Y/n that was dropped off by a school owl and everyone tried to figure out who had done it but not a soul could've guessed that Draco Malfoy had been the mastermind behind it. Well, Y/n would since Draco had written a short summary of each month into a letter and told her about it all, he didn't mention his feelings but constantly wrote that when she woke up she would be in for a surprise.

May was when he broke his cycle and would spend one hour in the Greenhouse helping Professor Sprout with the nearly ready Mandrakes. But other than that it was the same. He said that if Y/n wasn't allowed to live her life then he would put his on pause for her.

June was the exact same all the way up to June twenty-ninth (29th) because on June 30th they had to be escorted on a final tour around Hogwarts by a teacher as the school was closing down the next day and the petrified students would be sent to St.Mungo's and the Mandrakes would be potted and sent there because they just needed a little more time to grow, but no one, not even Professor Sprout knew when that would be. But they would have their leaves turn from green turn to brown when they were ready.

June 31st they found out that Ginny Weasley had been taken by the monster, Ron Weasley and Harry Potter had gone to save her and there was a full investigation happening but the monster was dead so the school wouldn't have to close, the students who were petrified could stay they just would have certain teachers stay to finish the whole process of awakening them. Draco was nervous as he had finished his June summary but wasn't allowed into the Hospital Wing to give it to her and what about summer? The whole point of him doing this was that she wouldn't have to have missed out on eight months because he had written about everything and she would see just how much he cared and that would make telling her all about his feelings so much easier. But how could he do that if he was barred from the Hospital wing and wasn't being told why?
