Poseidon
In the throne room
Allowing the grand doors to close behind me, I stepped into the throne room to find it empty with the exception of Zeus and of course Hera. Surprisingly they were arguing, a real rare occurrence on Olympus. Not.
-id you at least wear protection?!"
"Yes! I have already told you this! I double bagged it. Ares promised me nothing ever makes it passed two con-,"
"Brother. Enough, I'm tired of listening to this never ending bullshit," I cut him off.
"You dare interrupt me and my wife's conversation?" Zeus retorted, livid that anyone, especially me, his self-prescribed rival, would talk to him in this way.
"It's not like it's too private to begin with, you are arguing in a meeting place. You can literally see your palace from the doors. But brother, I have more important news than your affairs."
Zeus relaxed and put his face in his hands, "And what would this news be?"
"My boy is still alive. He's alive!"
Slowly looking up out of his hands, "Then where is he," Zeus asked with a curious look.

Turkey Run state park
I flexed my bowstring till the corner of my thumb brushed the right corner of my mouth, staring down the bear. The girls are gonna love me for this, it's been far too long since we've had bear. Hopefully this will cheer up Thalia after her cousins death...
BOOM! BOOM! Making my shot go wide.
God damnit Ze- Dad.Can't let the old man know I'm cursing his name. But really?! He just has to make such a drama king. Why can't he call a meeting like the rest of us?! Whatever it is, it must be important."
I immediately flashed back to my hunters' camp,"Thalia! Im leaving for Olympus, please watch over the Hunt for a few hours," not even waiting on a response I flashed out to Olympus.
I appeared directly on my throne, putting on my 'If I wasn't obligated to be here, I wouldn't be' face while inspecting a very bothersome hangnail.
"Thanks for coming," Zeus announced.
"It's not like we have much of a choice...," Apollo muttered, shooting a smirk at Hermes.
Gods why did my younger brother have to grow up to be such an idiot. He might be ballsy, but he's a ballsy idiot.
"APOLLO! You're lucky I've even let you return from Delphi, don't think it will be forgotten so quickly what you've done with your 'legacy,' father replied with so much snot it made half the council flinch. It just put a slight smile on my face.
Zeus sat on his throne, staring at the faces of each Olympian. "Do any of you have any more sly remarks or any actual important news to bring up?"
Taking a second, he sat up and straightened his suit, "Well okay then. The news I called you here to tell you is about our favorite hero."
Gods he really is upset that his children have never done anything as great as Percy.
"...He's...alive," causing my heart to start doing jumping jacks.
Instantaneously every single olympian was jumping off their thrones, including myself. The only exceptions, Dionysus and my uncle. Dionysus's feet up over his arm rest, head lolled over the other. Snoring. Poseidon sitting with his head in hands like a schoolgirl, grinning like a moron.
"So where is he?!"
"How do you know?"
"Is he alright?!"
The gods continued screaming questions at Zeus and Poseidon for a few good minutes. After calming down and most of us sat down Zeus cleared his throat.
"We only know that he is not dead. Nothing more, nothing less. But we need to find him."
Percy
Almost five thousand miles away
Gods my life fucking sucks. Anything that can go wrong, seems to go wrong. The fates really want to see a broken man made of me.
I finally made it to my destination, a solemn little town called Yakutat right near the Alaska/Canada border, on the alaskan side of course. I have no money, and no job. I walked for a solid thirty hours before I even thought of calling Blackjack.
Thanks again Blackjack, I spoke to my pegasus.
Ay that's no problem boss man. It's why you're the boss. But I am gonna have to ask for some sugar cubes.
I'll have to get back to you on that Blackjack, I just happened to forget your sugar cubes after my girlfriend died. Oops," I replied sarcastically.
Jeez boss I was only kidding. So you good from here? I'd love to stay but those big blue guys are staring at me like they wouldn't mind me as a snack.
Blackjack, they're hyperboreans, they're friendly.
If it's all the same to you, I'd like to stay somewhere they're not, regardless. I'll just be a call away, and with that he flew off.
Great! Thanks! I guess I don't mind doing some more walking, I thought to myself.
I headed off towards the town center, it being late at night, not many people were out and about except the fishermen preparing their equipment. I looked about for maybe a motel or something when I heard screaming down at the dock.
I made my way down to the water.
"-uck you and your shitty boat! I'm done missing my daughter so I can fill your pockets old man," a young guy around my age said while walking off in my direction, not even shooting me a glance.
The 'old man' in question just stared at me. He slowly split into a grin, "If you don't work like a man, how do you expect to get paid like one? Nowadays you young folk don't know what hard work is."
"Who are you to make assumptions about me," I asked kind of taken back.
"Well are you saying I'm wrong?"
"About me, yes. I know how to work, it seems that's all my life has been for the passed five years it seems. Work, and a lot of it."
"If you say so," he replied with an even more crooked grin and a gleam in his eye, "Since I have found myself such a hard worker, would you be interested in a job?"
"Well it depends on how much you're paying I guess."
Got to start my new life somewhere.
"Well it's dangerous work, but if you're as hard of a worker as you say and you make it all the way through a trip I'd be willing to give you twenty five percent of the haul."
"Well I've fallen a little behind on the price of fish, but I guess that sounds about fair," I replied.
"Great! My name is Polk, but my friends call me Grandpa P, so don't call me that," he said while reaching his hand out towards me, with his seeming to be signature shit eating grin.
"Wasn't planning on it, but I'll keep it in mind...," Crazy old man, "My name is Percy," I replied, reaching to meet his hand.
"So at least we've established you know what a fish is, you any good at fishing?"
"Why would anyone not know what a fish is? And yes, I would imagine I'd be pretty good at fishing," I replied.
"Well we'll have to see about that 'Mr. Oh Im such a hard working man.'"
I can't believe this guy, I've known him for five whole minutes and all he's done is blow smoke up my ass.
"Do you have an issue with me or are you really just a crazy old man?"
"Well I am a little crazy, or so I've repeatedly been told, but Im just trying to break you out of your shell. Whatever you're trying to get over, isn't gonna be any easier if you can't get over your dejected, no nonsense attitude. You got to relax and let live. It's the key to a happy life," he spoke the last part with such seriousness it kind of took me by surprise.
At first, I was a little taken back, whatever you're trying to get over. What did the old man mean by that?
It's got to be a coincidence, this is the land beyond the gods. The old man is just trying to act wise and happened to hit it big.
"Okay, okay. So when do we start," I asked.
He simply just turned away from me and headed towards his boat and I knew that he wanted me to follow. When we reached the boat he turned to me, "Well 'Mr. I deserve more money' was kind enough to tear my nets up on our last trip, but thankfully for you I'd call it job security."
He tossed me a ball of tangled braided rope and pointed further down the dock where a pile of torn nets were sitting.
Oh boy this is gonna be tons of fun.
Artemis
2 years later at the Hunt
Two fucking years of running around like a moron, never has my prey ever avoided me so well. This is my new life as it seems that my father and a few other members of my fucked up family won't seem to let the Percy situation be.
I still think back on the day I was assigned the most boring and frustrating job possible.
After everyone had calmed down and my family and Uncle P had described the situation and how they knew what they knew Zeus spoke up once again.
"Artemis, I want you and your hunters to search nonstop for the lost hero. We can't afford to have him wandering around the world by himself."
"Father, if he ran away from camp I'm sure that it was because it's what he wanted. We all know how much he loved Annabeth," I said with a nod to Athena, who was happy everyone was off her back now that was Percy was found to be alive.
"My dear daughter, while I'm sure none of us blame Percy for running off, it doesn't mean we can just let him do it. He's endangering him-,"
"We need to make sure that he is safe and in good health. We don't need to force him to come back if he doesn't wish to. But I need to know that my son is okay and you're our best chance at finding him," Poseidon cut in with his pleading eyes that were reminiscent of a baby seal, that I heard he shares with his son.
"Fine. I don't like it, but I'll be back soon."
With that I had flashed straight to camp.
"Girls, gather around, I just got the news that Percy Jackson is still alive and we've been given the job of tracking him down as it seems that he's decided to run off."
Immediately Thalia jumped up, I know that her cousin Percy was closer to her than her own brother Jason and had become even closer to her than even that Luke boy. She for one was ecstatic, she would actually be the only one of the group. The rest of the hunters were groaning, annoyed that their thought of taking a break now that the war was over were shattered.
"Now get some rest, we leave in the morning," I ordered spinning on my heel and heading towards my tent.
I originally thought this was gonna be a walk in the park. I thought I'd track him down, just like everyone else. Oh boy, was I wrong.
He just disappeared. I have no idea what happened other than he flew his pegasus Blackjack somewhere. Once he returned I took him to Poseidon for questioning, but he apparently has some sealed horse lips.
I've even went as far as going to his mother's apartment. If she knew where he was she wasn't saying. It seems out of character for Percy to not talk to his mother after so long and how worried he knew she would be. I figured that must mean that he plans on coming back.
If he does come back after two years and just pops up with that dumbass grin, "Oh hey guys Im back," I'm going to kick his ass. And if I find him before that day, I'm still going to kick his ass. No one, absolutely no one, runs from me for this long and causes me all this trouble and gets away with it. I don't care if it Perseus Jackson, a respectable man.
'Man.' Hades, I need to get myself together I can't even stop complimenting him when he's the reason for so much frustration within me.
Sorry that the italics and bold didn't transfer over, but honestly I'm too lazy to go through and correct it all, so if this annoys you my username is the same on fanfiction.net.
