"Why are you here?" she screamed, "I don't want to see you!"
"I came to get revenge for what you did to me!" the ghost whispered. He steadily dangled his feet above her head while sitting on the monkey bars at the park. He looked down on her next to his pale, lifeless dead body; blood still spurting from his chest. She clenched the kitchen knife she used to stab him in her left hand and swallowed hard. The sun beamed through the beast before her and time seemed to freeze. All of the children in the park stopped staring at the murderous scene like everything around her was dissolving into a blood bath. The ghost swooped down and was able to grab her by the throat.
"Karly, time for bed!" Mom called."Yes ma'am." I moan and set my book down on the cherrywood sidetable next to my lamp and I shut out the lights and closed the door. I covered up and fell asleep.
"Selena? Is that you?" I asked. She walked out of some sort of book store wearing a light blue sunshine shirt, slightly tall white, pink, and yellow striped creased socks, and a jean skirt. She hopped into a brownish minivan along with her little brother, her mom, and her dad."Selena, wait!" I cried out to her as her car drove off. The whole awkward scene turns white when my eyes begin to open."Dang! What a weird dream!" I yawn stepping out of bed.
Later that day at school, I saw my friend Selena and I met her at her locker. She seemed really excited.
"Karly, guess what!" she exclaimed, "I got a couple new mangas at the book store and my parents really want to meet you!"
"Seriously?! That's awesome! What'd you get from the book store?" I was slightly confused. I just had a dream about this last night! Her parents waved at me when they drove away, but Selena remained mutual.
"I got two Charcoal mangas! You know that anime I've always been talking about?" she jumped up and down.
"Oh yeah, and Ulquirano. You talk about him all the time. How could I not know?" I laughed.
"But he's sooo hot! I can't just not talk about hi--" the bell interrupted our conversation.
"We've got to get to class before the bell ends! Bye!" I waved goodbye and ran to class.
I walked right into class as the bell stopped ringing and sat down in my seat. I had so much to think about! Why did I have such a weird dream like that? How come it was actually linked to the real thing?
I sat in the front of the room in first period so I always felt like somebody was watching me. Everytime I would turn around, I would see nobody at all looking at me. I was kind of confused. I turned to my left to talk to Selena about my social studies work and saw that she wasn't there. Instead, I saw Corey. He had dark blue eyes that were almost purple and shaggy brown hair that fell down to his eyebrows. Some of the students would call him a monster because of his weird colored eyes. I was scared of him because of that. Normally, he's a little on the quiet side. This makes him seem mysterious and tough, though.
"What's up?" he asked concerned, "Is everything okay?" his voice was deep and captivating; I was quite shocked.
"I'm fine, it's just--"
"My eyes?" he seemed to have read my mind, "I know, scary right? My closest friends are even scared of me." I started to feel a little bad for him.
"Well, I'll be your friend!" I offered kindly. "I'm naturally the scariest girl in tenth grade!"
"I know, I'm even scared of you. You're strong, fast, and have a scary glare. On top of all that; however, you seem to be really smart! I'll be your friend." he smiled.
After that weird moment, he would sit at an empty table with me and we would be outsiders together. I always wanted a friend that could understand my pain and then complain to me how worse they have it. It felt kind of good.
"Hey," he began to ask,"are you good with kids?"
"Yeah, I guess. I have one older sister and three younger brothers." I replied.
"Wow, must be tough. Are you looking for any extra pay?"
"Dude, what's up with all the random questions?"
"I just wanted to know if you wanted to be our family's maid. The pay is really good; how's $40 dollars an hour?"
"Dang! That's a lot! I'd love to!" I laughed, "Is your family rich or something?"
"Yeah, I guess you could say that." he smirked.
After I agreed to be his family's maid, he said I would have to live there for a week; or atleast until I got to know the house and his family. My parents were completely okay with it as long as I remained friends and just friends with Corey. "Don't worry!" I had told them, "Its totally cool! We're just friends and thats our only relationship." I kept thinking about how fun it would be to hang out with him and his family a lot.
Corey and I sat in the bleachers at the gym. I got out my phone and started to show him some pictures. Leaning on each other, we felt somewhat calm; until he began to playfully nudge me with his head like a dog. Being me, I played back trying to show him I was stronger. I nudge back harder hoping that he'd get the idea that I wasn't in the mood to play. I was a little too rough, though, and he fell over. I laughed at him and started to fall as well. I fell on top of him and barely caught my fall. My hands on his chest, I accidentally kissed him when I fell. I sat up and wiped my face. How'd that happen? I thought, I don't even like him that way! We're just friends! While I thought hard, Corey grabbed the back of my head and pulled me back down to kiss me properly. I tried to pull away but he was too strong! Finally, he released his grip and I sat up.
"What were you thinking?!" I screamed, "You're such a--!"
BEEP-BEEP-BEEP-BEEP! My alarm went off and woke me up.
"Another dream?" I said confused. I gathered my clothes and got ready for school.
"Hey! What's up?" Corey caught me in the hallway.
"Nothing much. I had a weird dream about you last night, though." I replied.
"Really? What about?" He asked.
"Oh, we were playing on a swingset in the park with my little brothers." I lied. I couldn't gather enough courage to tell him we kissed! That would ruin our friendship!
"Wow, weird. Well to be honest, I had a dream about you, too!" He said in that deep voice of his, "We were sitting in the gym bleachers looking through pics on your phone." My heart beat froze and my legs became numb. I fell backwards towards the floor and Corey immediately caught me. "You sure nothings up?"
