My face felt burning hot both with anger and embarassment, but I helped him up anyways.

"Why'd you do that?" I had calmed down a bit.

"I thought you thought of me like a brother? Is there anything wrong with giving a kiss to your sister?" he smirked. I was totally confused by now. That was just me thinking to myself! How come he always knows things that I only think about? "Do you really want to know why?" Did he just read my mind AGAIN?!

"Fine then, tell me why or how you can read my mind." I moaned.

"How many senses are there?" He asked.

     "Easy, five." I smiled.

"Wrong! There are six in some people; like you and me."

     "No way!" I said sarcastically.

"I'm serious. How else would I be able to read your mind?" Corey stated, "There are different versions of the sixth sense, which is why scientists don't approve it as an actual sense. Your version, Karly, is very unique. You can see the future through dreams and feel impulses from the future as well. This tells you that something good or bad will happen. Mine; however, is the most common amongst the very few that have the sixth sense. I can read minds through body language and voice. The reason I had the same dream as you, though, is because when two people with different versions of the sixth sense meet and become close, the mind reader experiences exactly what the other does. You getting all this?"

"Y-yes." I stuttered. I was quite confused and stressed over this idea; then, my heart skipped a beat. The atmosphere suddenly felt tense and gripped me tight as if litterally trying to sqeeze the life out of me. "Did you just--"

"Yeah, I felt it, too." He sounded scared.

"Something really bad is going to happen at school on Monday." My mind was boggled. I had no idea how I knew that, but it's better to know before it happens.

"I know," He said, "or atleast, now I do."

"Selena!" I called from across the hallway, "Happy birthday!" I gave her a big hug and handed her a black lava lamp and a few chocolates for her parents. Tears silently began to fall from my eyes as I remembered that awful feeling of pain I experienced when I found out today wasn't going to be good at all. I felt really bad for Selena. It was her sixteenth birthday and it was with out a doubt going to be a bad day. "I have the same one exactly like this at home, so when I look at it, I'll always think of you!"

"Awe! Thanks so much!" she said with a great big smile, "Uh, look." she pointed her finger towards me, signaling me to look back. I turned around and saw nobody.

"There's nobody behind me--" I turned back to face Selena and Corey stood inbetween us looking down on me. "Go away, Corey! It's not your day today, it's Selena's. Today is her sixteenth birthday!"

"Oh, well happy birthday." he turned around and gave her a pencil. "To bad this is all I have for you."

She smiled and gladly accepted the gift, "It's a good thing it's green!" she said to herself as she walked away to class.

"Bye!" I waved then looked back at Corey, who, by the way, was way too close and was nearly pinning me against the lockers. I took a step backwards and then frowned, "Too bad today's gonna suck."

"Yeah, this morning it rained like crazy!" he said, "Why'd you take the bus to school instead of riding with me? You live in my house for a week, remember?"

     "Yes, I remember." I frowned.

"Why are you pouting?" he giggled, "Well actually it's kind of cute."

"Knock it off, Corey!" I growled. The bell began to ring as we stepped in the classroom and we sat in our seats, but something was different. CRAP! Is my seat wet?! I thought, then I heard something out of nowhere that sounded like Corey, but was in my head! Here, you can sit on my jacket. I turned around to see Corey handing me his black hoodie. I felt a little embarassed having to sit on it when I realized why the seat was wet. The ceiling was leaking onto my head! And  this is only the beginning of the worst day ever!

I'm sorry, Baby. It was Corey again.

"Karly Kajtazovic to Office B." The principal called over the intercom. What did I do? I thought as I walked down to the office. Walking into the room, I saw Selma, my mom, sitting on the floor crying.

"Mom?" I asked, "What happened?" She stood up and wiped away the tears. Hugging me, she said the worst thing that I ever could have heard.

"Karly, Honey, your father died in a car crash." My heart skipped 3 beats and my body felt a cold flash as I fell backwards. I'm really going to faint this time and there's nobody here to catch me.

"Karly?!" Selena had walked into the room. She ran to me as fast as she could and tried to help me up. The sight of her blurred into a sea of black nothingness.

"Is she okay?" Somebody asked the doctor as I was halfway awake.

"She's fine, she just was in shock over the death of her father." I think it was the doctor who replied? I couldn't tell who was talking, but I knew It was probably Selena or Mommy.

"Hurry up and come to." Somebody whispered as they kissed my cheek.

"M-mom?" I managed to choke out. I felt blind when I tried to open my eyes and Mom open them for me.

"You really do have the same bright blue eyes as your father and I." she said. My eyes began to leak tears that burnt to cry. My whole body was numb and my father was dead. I knew that today wasn't going to be the best, but did my father really have to die?!

I'm really sorry you have to go through this. I'm at school taking notes for you, so don't worry. Corey was a true friend; the ray of sunshine on a rainy day, but not even he could brighten my mood! I needed my dad!

"Karly! Move your hand for me!" While I was thinking, the doctor kept repeating things to my unlistening ears.

"Oh, sorry, Sir." I managed to move my left arm slightly while my right arm still stayed still.

"She's going to be in the hospital for about another hour or so. Here's a doctors note for school." He handed my mom the paper and left.

I had nothing to do. I checked my pockets for my phone with my only working hand when I realized that I had left it with Selena! My phone's with Selena! Now I have nothing to do. I frowned. It's going to be a worse day than I thought...
