"Oh...my." Kyoka's voice made Kagome stir, and for a moment, she didn't realize what was going on. Then she realized she was naked from the waist down and Naraku still had his arms wrapped tightly around her. A moment later, Kyoka jumped to the side as one of Naraku's feelers smashed the floor where she'd been standing.

"Out!" Naraku snapped. Kyoka smiled lightly.

"Father needs you to discuss business, and I need to prepare Kagome-hime for your outing." she said. Kagome shifted a little, and felt Naraku's grip tighten.

"Naraku, let me go." she squirmed, frustrated, and it was then that she realized Naraku was still inside her. Her face heated almost unbearably.

"Shall I run a bath for Kagome-hime, Lord Naraku?" Kyoka said.

"Do that." Naraku growled, his gaze tracking Kyoka across the room until she disappeared into the bathing chamber. Kagome shifted.

"Um..." she began hesitantly. He drew himself out of her, and she bit her tongue to stop herself from voicing her pleasure as he did.

"I will bathe elsewhere." he said, "You bathe here while I see what Toki wants."

"And the trip into town?" Kagome asked, hating that she was anxious for the answer. He kissed her lightly and then stood, tying his sleeping kimono shut.

"I have not forgotten." he said, and then left the room. Kagome waited for a long minute before making her way into the bathing chamber. Kyoka already had the bath hot.

"You aren't going to scrub yourself raw again, are you, hime?" Kyoka asked, cocking her head a little. Kagome shed her clothes and got in the bath, trying to relax.

"No, I won't." she sighed, uncertain what to do. Her relationship with Inuyasha had never been like this one she had with Naraku. While she could see similarities between Naraku and Inuyasha, something about Naraku was just...different. For a long minute, she thought about it, and then, as Kyoka was giving her the kimono to wear into town, she thought she had it figured out.

Inuyasha never thought he needed forgiveness. Even when they first met and he was resistant to working with her, he was unapologetic and seemed to believe everything he did was fine. Naraku, on the other hand, treated her like she hated him, and that his actions were irredeemable. He hid it well, but she could see it. He struggled internally to treat her well, for whatever reason, and also to remain cold and unmoved by hers and Shippo's obvious acceptance of his redemption.

She smiled a little at that thought. Naraku used to use people and their relationships to get what he wanted. Now he struggled seemingly with wanting a relationship with Kagome and Shippo, and trying to remain the cold demon he was beforehand.

Not that she doubted he could be cold and equally as bad as he was before the Shikon Jewel was destroyed for good. She just also believed that he didn't want to be that way with her, and probably with Shippo too.

"Good thoughts, hime?" Kyoka asked.

"Uh, yes." Kagome said. "I just thought about a few things."

"I see." Kyoka smiled almost mysteriously, "I'm going to see what mother wants." and then she walked out. Kagome tightened her obi a little and then moved to follow.

Dizziness swept over her, making her stumble, and she struggled with the urge to be sick. She leaned against the doorway to the bathing chamber as her world spun, confused. What was happening? She collapsed through the doorway and tried to push herself up, to no avail. She lay there, breathing heavily, her body weak, until she saw footsteps. For a moment, she believed it was Naraku, that he'd poisoned her somehow, but then Toki knelt next to her.
