I awoke before everyone in the house. Everything was so quiet and peaceful. No chatter and chaos, no people running around or bickering. Just silence and serenity. I dress quickly and slip out of Camilo's room,  quietly making my way downstairs. The sky is still scarlet color as the sun slowly climbs into its spot in the sky. Birds chirp and a cool breeze rushes through the trees. I stand in front of the window in the kitchen, watching the morning bloom.

Its become a habit for me to bring a book everywhere I go. I always have one in my hand or in my bag incase I get bored. I brought down one of my favorite books of all time, "The Time Machine" by H.G. Wells. (A/N: honestly I do love this book 10/10 go read it) I find a comfy chair in front of a window so I can watch as the sun dawns upon a new day.

I curl up in the chair, leaning my back against the arm rests and prop the book up on my knees. My eyes scan the pages and each word becomes a picture in my mind, and before long, I'm engulfed in the world of the 'Eloi' and 'Morlocks'. Time flies as I flip the pages and absorb every once of the story that lie upon these aged pages. My father had given this book to me for my thirteenth birthday and over the last two years, I've must have read this book at least ten times over.

The plot thickens and everything around me starts to blur as my eyes laser focus on each word. Im nervous even though I know exactly what will happen. He is beginning to hear mysterious sounds when, someone in real life grabs my shoulders. I let out the most shrill scream and throw my book in the air. Uncontrollable laughter than fills my ears. I know that laugh, it belongs to none other than my favorite chameleon. Swinging my head around i see Camilo doubled over laughing. His laugh makes me want to laugh but my heart was beating to fast to be able to relax and join him.

"Im sorry, mi vida." I can barely understand him he's laughing so hard. He walks over and picks up my book examining the cover. "The Time Machine?" he asks flipping through the pages. I jump out of my seat and reach for the book. Camilo lifts it just out of my reach, he has the wickedest smirk on his face. I attempt to reach the book but every time my fingers brush the cover, he shifts into a taller version of himself and lifts it just above my reach. The closer I get the more he moves it behind his head. Soon the book is entirely behind his head and in an attempt to grab it my arms loop around his neck. His smirk grows more. As I try to swipe the book, I realize i'm just pulling myself closer and closer to him.

For a minute I stop, and just stare at him. Once again, our faces are mere inches apart. Im starting to notice a certain trend between Camilo and I. He stares back and his smirk drops a bit into a sincere smile. His arm quickly grabs my waist and he dips me, sweeping my feet out from under me so all that is keeping my from falling is his arm around my waist and mine around his neck. With his free hand he waves the book in front of my face and snickers.

"Gimme that!" I cry playfully reaching for the book, while my other hand still remains around the back of his neck.

"Im afraid I can't do that, princesa."  he teases once again keeping the book barely out of my reach.

"Camilo!" I squeal as he lowers his arm so my hair starts to touch the floor. He opens to a random page and clears his throat regally.

"'Looking at these stars suddenly dwarfed my own troubles and all the gravities of terrestrial life.'" He reads a random quote as if it was a royal proclamation. "Thats deep," he says nodding at the book, ignoring as I reach for it and try to regain my feet, but every time I do, he lowers me a bit more until I am laying on the ground. My back is pressed against the tile of the kitchen and he kneels next to me, his leg pressed against my hip. He stares at me and puts his face directly over mine. His curls tickle my face as he smirks. My breath hitches as I watch the corners of his mouth start to tilt up more and more as he gets closer and closer. Our noses are millimeters apart when his hand flies up with the book.

"Boop," he says simply, gently pressing the cover of the book to the tip of my nose. A wide smile spreads on his face and he jumps up and sprints out the back door. I follow him running full speed after him. He runs towards the small woods at the back of his house. He is very fast and I loose him within the woods. I become very anxious as I try to locate where he ran off to.

"Camilo?" I call, as I continue to look through the trees and vines. I stumble across the stream my father and I had to cross. The sun was almost in its spot in the sky, but it was still rising and the sky was tinged pink. I sat by the stream and began to fiddle with a flower in my hands. I continue to try to call Camilo's name but he didn't show up. After I sat and watched the stream for a little while, I heard a few sticks crack behind me.

"How'd you find this place?" Camilo asks appearing behind.

"I was looking for you and gave up and excepted the fact I was lost," I shrug and he chuckles sitting beside me. I'm not lost anymore though, I'll never be lost being next to Camilo.
