Ella dropped the sled. It crumbled to the ground, it's usefulness depleted. Ella lifted her hand to her mouth, not really sure what to do in this kind of situation.

"Sam?" She asked the empty street silently. "What do I do?"

Sam awoke, but he wasn't sure if he was actually awake. Everything around him made it look like he was in space or something, but there were large floating bodies in the sky that looked almost like ink floating in water. He looked around.

This feels so real.

The space around him was strange, he saw no sign of a planet and some of it looked like stars and some of it didn't.

Am I on drugs right now? He thought.

"No," There was a strange disembodied voice. "You're not."

Sam jerked his head around so fast, he might as well have just broken it.

He heard a soft chuckle. "Do not be afraid." The strangest voice Sam had ever heard was sort of like multiple voices all at once but it mainly sounded female to Sam, and it felt as though it was surrounding him. "You cannot see me."

"Why not?"

"Because I am more than that."

"What are you talking about?"

"You will not be able to imagine, little one."

Sam stayed silent, he was much too afraid to talk back and he mostly just didn't understand what was being said to him. Especially to something he could not see and something... something he couldn't comprehend.

"Who-"

"I am not part of your world. Nor am I part of anything. I am not limited by flesh."

"Are you God?!"

He heard the soft, but unsettling laugh. "Yes, but I am also not God."

"Huh?..."

"Like I have said, you will not be able to imagine." Sam twirled in his floating seat in space and looked around. "But Sam, you're here for a purpose rather than talking about what I am."

Sam was still silent.

"You are here for a very important reason. You were born for a very important reason."

"You mind telling me what that is?"

"Ella was not supposed to survive."

"What?"

"She was not supposed to live but I cannot interfere."

The voice sounded oddly like it was circling him but getting closer at the same time.

"Sounds like you're interfering right now."

"Sam," The voice was upon him. "Have an open mind but more importantly, open your eyes. Don't let anything get in the way of your true purpose, the reason you were born."

"What does that even mean?! What are you saying?!" Sam's world was turned around when he saw the flashing of bright white eyes and his entire vision went white once again, however, this time, it didn't burn.
