I slide on my color war shirt before tying my shoes and sprinting out my cabin.

this is why I should have prepared for color war earlier, its already an hour into the color war and I'm just coming out my cabin.

"hey there's one there!" a bunch of kids scream pointing at me and my blue shirt.

oh shit.

I take off in a sprint the opposite direction, not daring to look behind me.

as I sprint faster I hear nick yell.

"they went that way!" he yells to the kids behind me.

I stop in my tracks and run back the way to nick.

"I honestly just saved your ass." he says laughing.

"why thank you." I say dramatically.

nick smiles before continuing to walk.

"isn't this basically just cheating?" I ask laughing.

"how is us walking together cheating?" nick asks stupidly.

"no! I mean the fact you told the kids I went the other way." I say laughing.

"well probably but who's gonna know?" nick whispers to me.

I laugh and continue walking by his side.

"well what book are you reading now?" nick asks.

"too many." I joke.

"Well what about you?" I ask nick.

"I'm reading carrie because it's your favourite." nick whispers.

I smile at him before kissing his cheek.

"you're too cute nick." I say smiling.

"actually no, you are." nick states before tackling me.
