Tosti and Toeter didn't know where to look, what they saw was too big for words. Large wooden planks surrounded the lawn. Behind those planks, large plants protruded from the ground, they must be the trees Pluim was talking about. Many of those trees together were the forest. According to Pluim, there lived dangerous ferocious cats who, if given the chance, ate kittens alive. Toeter shuddered at the thought. "Let's discover the garden!" Tosti said excitedly. 'There are so many new and special smells here!' thought Toeter. He tripped, sniffing, from one plant to the next. "Well...," said Plume. Toeter was startled and pulled out his hair and turned slowly. There Plume sat watching them with her tail neatly draped over her paws. But her expression wasn't angry as Toeter had expected. She just looked at them sadly. "We're sorry Mom, we'll never do it again!" Tosti chirped in panic. It was eerily quiet for a very long time. "You look like your father," said Plume suddenly, staring at nothing. 'What?!', Toeter said, frowning. "Our father is dead that's what YOU said!!" Tosti exclaimed in a squeaky voice. Pluim looked at them one by one and sighed. "I should have told you but... I'm not kidding," Pluim sobbed. 'Your father is one of the forest cats I told you about, his name is EagleFeather. Hooter was transfixed listening to Pluim's stories and apologies, but it didn't come in anymore. Toeters head was spinning, all the questions made him sick and disgusted. When pluim began with another apology, he snapped. "How can you lie to us!" exclaimed Toeter. He started to whine, 'You tricked us into thinking our father was dead, hit by a monster!' Toeter started to panic. "I never want to see you again!" Tosti shouted. Toeter ran as fast as he could, hearing the paws of his brother who followed him. 'No, don't leave! I'm sorry!' Pluim shouted from somewhere far behind them.

Before they knew it they arrived at the edge of the forest, Toeter looked at Tosti. are we really going to do this? Looking for our father?" he asked. "Have you a better idea then?" Tosti said, pointing to the bullheads behind them. Hooter put his ears back and walked silently across the forest border. EagleFeather, what a strange name Toeter thought. I only know cats with names like Stipple, Bird, Breeze, Minoes and Sammy. Names like his father's are much cooler, Toeter thought with a spark of envy. "Where should we go?" Tosti asked. It's so big in here, Dad could be anywhere! "Maybe we can smell cats the further we walk in the woods," Toeter said. Pluim said that the forest cats live in large groups, so we can only smell or hear them. "Good point," Tosti said, nodding. They walked in silence over logs, streams, large rocks and brambles. As it grew dark, Toeter began to get hungry. "Maybe we should go and see if there's any food to be found," Toeter suggested. "Where should we look?" Tosti asked confused. Toeter tasted the air with his nose, he smelled a strange but tasty odor in the distance. 'I smell something!', Toeter said happily. He also saw Tosti sniffing, you could immediately see that he also smelled the smell because his eyes were as big as footballs. "This way!" Tosti shouted happily and raced away. "Hey wait for me, I was the first to find it!" Toeter shouted angrily. Toeter ran after his brother, he saw something behind him. "I've almost got you!" Toeter said excitedly. Suddenly Tosti stopped. BAM! Toeter slammed into him. "OW!" squeaked Toeter. It all went to black and the last thing he could remember was a big black and white tom who said things to him worriedly, but it didn't get through to him anymore.
