CrowPaw wakes up to a nasty poke in his rib. 'Ouch!', he grumbled after which he angrily looked up at the cat. It was EagleFeather. "We're going to start with your first training," said EagleFeather in a gruff voice. "Oh yes, I knew!" he said quickly as he stood up. CrowPaw and EagleFeather walked across the clearing together. CrowPaw heard his stomach growl, EagleFeather looked at him disapprovingly. 'We don't have time to eat, you should have come out of your nest sooner', said EagleFeather after which he continued to walk stiffly. CrowPaw had thought of something different in his father's head, a loving tomcat who was always there for him. Well, it can always come! Patience CrowPaw!

When they got outside the camp Crowpaw saw the great tall trees towering above them. He felt as small as a mouse. Everywhere there were birds singing and mice nibbling. "Today I'm going to start showing you the territory." Said EagleFeather. Crowpaw nodded at that. They walked in silence through the woods, he thought it was a little strange. This was his father! He could have been born here, and raised by him! His stomach cringed at the thought, he shook his head and walked briskly on.

They arrived at a large clearing with a sandy bottom and a large fallen book right through it. 'This is the training pit,' said EagleFeather. "Here we teach our students the art of fighting."CrowPaw looked at the spot. Here he would later learn to fight! Super cool! They walked straight ahead and on. CrowPaws paws started to hurt quite a bit, but he didn't show it. "We are now at the ShadowClan border, do NOT cross this, it would have very serious consequences." said EagleFeather, looking at him seriously. Crowpaw nodded back gravely. They also walked along the RiverClan border and the Serpent Rocks. EagleFeather had told him about the WindClan living across their territory, he had been listening attentively. Meanwhile, his paws hurt so much that he thought he had lost them somewhere in the woods. EagleFeather had apparently seen it because he said: 'that's enough for today, let's go back, tomorrow I'm going to show you how to hunt.'

Back in the camp Crowpaw walked straight to his nest where he encountered BarkPaw. "Tired?" he asked him. 'I am demolished!' said BarkPaw. "She dragged me all over the territory!" Crowpaw couldn't contain his laughter. "Don't you?" asked BarkPaw with a grumpy look in his eyes. 'Well, I think I left my paws somewhere in the woods...', he rolled his eyes. "I'll have to go look tomorrow." BarkPaw grinned. "Good night then!" Said Crowpaw quickly before going to sleep
