"Mom?" My voice coming out hoarse as I stare at the lady right in front of me.Almost unrecognizable.
She's dressed in her favorite shirt. Purple with white horizontal stripes.
She looks the same. The same as always.
This is wrong.
I hear more footsteps coming from the darkness behind her and in walks my sister.
She's smiling like she usually did. She has always been the better child. It's no wonder she got taken to moms job that day.
I wasn't salty about it. I was just happy I got to spend time with dad.
but now? I'd take it all back just to have one more moment with them. One more moment.
So cheers to my life.
And to the hopes that It will ever get better.
