I wake from my rest before the crack of dawn. I dress in a nice colored shirt and nice black pants. I do the rest of my morning routine. I decide to let my hair stay down and just brush it. Once done I grab my small sash and put my journal in it. Once I make sure I have everything I walk out of the house and lock the door behind me. I head to the edge of cider lake as it is my normal spot to go to. I take a breath of fresh air in. I take in the scent of the earth as it gives me comfort. Once I reach my spot I take a seat as I take out my journal and pen. I open to a new blank page. I stare at the page for a long time. I cant think of anything to write. I look up at the world around me and then I close my eyes. I listen to everything the water splashing and I hear the wind as it goes through the grass. I to soon hear footsteps and open my eyes. I see Kaeya I look away hoping he hasn't come from me. I soon hear him close to me he stops and takes a seat. "Hello Destiny." "What do you want Kaeya?" I say as I turn and look at him. I haven't spoken to him much only when I have to. There is silence before he speaks again "I know you really don't like me and I cant blame you for that. Jean would like to speak to you. She thinks its time you two talk." I say nothing as I look away from him. I haven't spoke to Jean in the past two years. She is the reason why my fiancé isn't here anymore. She sent him on that mission. "I have nothing to say to that women." I say and look back down at my journal. I noticed I still haven't written anything down. "Destiny you cant blame Jean for what happen." "She had no right to send him on that mission. He wasn't supposed to be there in the first place. He isn't here because she sent him away. I don't have to talk to her if I don't want to." I say calmly and close my journal putting it away. Maybe some ideas will come to me later. I go to stand up and feel Kaeya put his hand on my arm. "Just give her a chance to explain why she wanted him there." I look at him. I can tell there is no way he is letting me get out of this. "Fine, but promise you'll be there with me." "I promise." I nod and let him stand up. We walk to Monstad together it takes us time to get there. Soon I walk into the home of the knights and Kaeya knocks on Jeans office door. She gives us permission to enter. I stay close to the door way but move enough so he can close it. Jean looks at me and gives me a soft smile. "I'm glad you decided to come in." "I only came because Kaeya wanted me to. He said you wanted to explain why you sent my fiancé out on the mission. You know the one that took his life." I keep a straight face but, on the inside, I'm hurt. Every time I think about it there is a feeling of sadness but also something else. What the second thing is I have yet to figure it out. "Yes, please take a seat she stands up and points to the seat in front of her. I shake my head no just wanting to stand. She nods respecting my decision. She comes around the table and leans on her desk. She takes a moment before she speaks again. "I sent Roman on that mission because he was one of my best knights. We had gotten word that there were abysses mages in the area along with the Fatui. With your fiancés pyro vision, I thought we would have a better shot." She takes a moment before she continues. "I never wanted him to get hurt but I knew that there wasn't much chance of him coming back. I told him the risk he wanted to go. He told me that he wanted his last mission before the wedding to be an exciting one." I look at Jean and my eyes fill with tears. "You sent him on a suicide mission. You let him take those risk even though you knew he had me." There is anger in my voice and it turns cold. "You killed him Jean and I hope that keeps you awake at night." I say to her leaving the room as I feel my the cryo in me start to act up. I hear Kaeya following behind me. I get out of the building and go lean on one of the railings. I take deep breaths as I keep my self calm. I feel Kaeya beside me and he gently places a hand on my shoulder. "I'm sorry Destiny. I didn't know that's why he was sent." I wipe my eyes and give him a soft smile. "Its not your fault." He nodded at me and looks back at the building. "I have to get back now but maybe later we can hit Diluc's place and get some drinks. I'll treat you." I nod my head yes. I watch him go back in and start to head out of Monstad. I just want to be alone right now.
