I have set up some links to music that I think would fit the emotion. Listen to it while reading. Also...I think I have hurt some of you. I apologise. I still hope you'll enjoy this chapter.
When the TARDIS materialised in front of her, Rose rushed to the doors, dragging a very scared Brad after. The man set foot inside the console room and quivered, falling to the floor. He could not believe his eyes.
„It's....bigger on the inside." he whispered.
„Yep." Rose helped him to the jump seat. „And it's gonna take you home."
She searched for the Time Lord and found him behind the console, staring at her, his eyes dull. Rose smiled at him, leaping into his embrace.
„We did it!" she exclaimed as she jumped up and down. When the Time Lord didn't reciprocate the hug, she pulled out, furrowing her brows.
„I'm sorry." the Time Lord said. „I'm so sorry."
„What do you mean? We did it." she looked around the room. „Where's the Doctor?"
The Time Lord didn't reply.
„W-where's the Doctor?" she prompted once more, letting out an anxious laugh.
„I'm sorry."
„No." she stepped backwards, shaking her head. „Where is he? Doctor!" she called loudly, her voice echoing. „He's gonna be back, yes?"
„I tried..." the Time Lord stepped up, grabbing her shoulders but she'd jerk him away. „I tried to save him...I...The glass. It broke and he-"
„Stop talking." she glared at him. „Just, stop talking. I don't...How am I gonna- How am I even supposed to- No."
She felt her breath quicken, her blood rushing to her head. Her palms got sweaty and she rubbed them together, only to realise how cold they were. There was also a tremble working its way up from her feet, and her legs felt like giving out. She looked at the ground, and for some reason, Rose would now count each and every hole in the metal flooring of the console room.
She ran a hand over her forehead, then down to her eyes where she would rub them, letting out a sigh.
Rose pulled out her gun and walked to the door. At that, the TARDIS locked it and the Time Lord ran up to her.
„Let me out!" Rose cried, banging with her fists and feet. „Doctor, let me out! I need to find him!" she yelled. „Let me the fuck out!"
„Rose." he caught her from behind, dragging her. She would kick and scream and struggle in his arms. The Time Lord grabbed her gun, throwing it to the floor.
„Let me go!" she sobbed. „No! I can't. I can't. I can't."
With that, she'd fall to her knees, a hand to her chest. Tears rolled on her cheeks, and she'd cry loudly, unable to breathe. Rose felt like throwing up, a ball of air forming in her throat. She wailed.
„It hurts!" she shrieked. „It hurts! Make it stop! Make it stop!"
Swinging back and forth, Rose hit the ground and her wound would start to bleed.
„Rose!" the Doctor placed a hand on her shoulder.
„Don't fucking touch me! Don't touch me!" she shouted.
„No!" the Time Lord fought, forcing her into his embrace, and she would comply, burying her face into his chest, letting out the biggest scream she'd muster.
The TARDIS dematerialised on her own, bringing the survivors back up.
It had now been ten minutes of Rose silently crying, and he would rub her back.
„He told me to tell you..." the Time Lord whispered. „He said that...He said he loves you."
Rose pulled away, standing up and moving to the jump seat. She stared at the console. Blinking, she'd let out the last tears fall down her cheeks, and then she'd wipe them off. Rose sniffed, now running a hand through her hair.
After dropping Brad off at his home, the Time Lord would return to the console. Rose sat stiffly on the seat, her gaze not leaving the console. She would sometimes blink, but her eyes were dry and red and her lips bloody from all of the biting she would do.
Rose swallowed down. Her throat hurt.
After closing her eyes and taking in a big breath, she'd pull out the sonic screwdriver from her pocket and look at it. And then she'd press it, sending the TARDIS to dematerialise.
„What are you doing?" the Time Lord asked, but she didn't reply.
The time machine would stop and Rose would walk up to the doors and open them. What a beautiful sight, she thought. The Nebula was dancing in firm colors of orange, blue, and pinks. And then there would be the occasional star that would fly by.
The Time Lord watched from afar as she sat on the edge of the TARDIS, dangling her feet above the cloud of dust. She would look at the sonic screwdriver. The same sonic screwdriver she'd bring back from one of her dimension jumps and give to the Doctor. The same one he would then give to her before she'd leave to save Brad.
If only he had kept it, maybe...it could have helped. Maybe it could have saved him.
If only she stayed with him. If only she didn't leave him on his own. If only she'd held his hand.
Rose looked at her palm, opening and closing her fist.
„Who is gonna hold his hand now?" she whispered, questioning herself. „Tell me." she turned to the Time Lord. „Cause now he's alone. Do you believe in Heaven?"
The Time Lord walked to her, leaning against the wall. When he saw her scoot forwards, even more, he'd sit down next to her and drag her back.
„But there is no Heaven, is there?" she said. „There's...nothing. Just the Void." Rose felt her eyes tear again. „Tell me I'm wrong?"
The Time Lord looked down at his hands.
„Right." Rose sniffled. „Of course."
„Before he died, he shared his memories with me." he said. „And I felt it. Everything. The joy, the pain. The hurt. I felt his emotions. I saw through his eyes. Rose." he gently grabbed her hand, squeezing it. „He shared with me all of it. And you know what his last emotion was?"
„What?"
„Happiness. He felt happy. To have known you. He wasn't scared, he wasn't sad. He wasn't terrified. He was happy. To know that you'll be fine. To know you won't be alone."
He pulled her hand, pressing a kiss on her fingers.
„And most of all he was happy to have been loved by you." he continued.
Rose sighed, checking the sonic one last time before hovering it above the Nebula. And then she'd let it fall, getting carried away by the storm and disintegrated into dust. The sonic travelled for a while and she watched it go, hoping it would reach him.
The Time Lord wrapped his arm around her and she would lean her head on his shoulder, and cry again.
She thought about him. His eyes, his lips. His smile. His gaze. His voice. The way he would pinch at his nose and this funny thing he would do before running. She thought about his smell, his touch. His breath. And his jokes. She took it all in, remembering every last bit of detail. His hands, his arms. His shoulder, his back. The way he would sleep and the way he would cry. His embrace. His kiss. His warmth.
His love.
The human Doctor. The Impossible Doctor. With Rose Tyler. On an adventure he could have had.
